We are thankful for your support, though it has been a difficult month here at ZeroHour. We have received most our our APEX BOLT pens and can begin shipping them this weekend, but we have also had a major problem with our supplier of the stretch goal bits.
While we normally visit and work very closely with our manufacturers, in this case we felt confident that the production of the two micro-bits that we offered as a bonus stretch goal would not be difficult. Frankly, our partner has given us the runaround for weeks, which is odd because it’s a straightforward production job, and we have been making pens, flashlights, and other specially-machined parts for several years now. We did not mean to keep extending our delivery projection unnecessarily without a clear delivery date, but this is what our factory partner kept doing to us. We love our backers and always want to go the extra mile for them, but the bottom line is we were not able to obtain the finished bonus bits.
Our options going forward are to continue to hold your pens and try to create new bits at another factory, but this would take at least another month or longer. This seems unreasonable, so with our sincere apologies, we have decided that we will ship the pens, but without the free bits that we wanted to produce as an extra thank you. We hope you will understand, but we believe the product you backed and paid for is more important for you to receive than the bonus bits we invested our own money to produce.
That said, we would still like to include a bonus item as a thank you. With your APEX BOLT rewards, we will be including either a ZeroHour lanyard or a microlight keychain, which we find useful to keep inside our ZeroHour Zip Travel Waist Pack:
We may still try to produce the micro-bits at another factory, and we’ll keep you updated when we are able to do so. Of course, we will offer these micro-bits to our backers for free, though there may be a minor shipping cost. For those of you who ordered the standard 33-piece add-on sets, we will be sending those out with your rewards.
You will receive a tracking number this weekend, and orders will start to hit the post office by Wednesday of next week. We are excited to get APEX BOLT into your hands, and we deeply apologize for the extended delay. We are very impressed with the quality of our APEX BOLT pen, and we are happy to be able to deliver it to you before the holidays.
