Project update #2
The PrintBrush XDR at CES 2019
The Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas last week was absolutely overwhelming for us. Although standing on a far back edge of the exhibition floor at the Sands, the stream of visitors was endless. We even had several spontaneous visits from the media which we are very grateful for.
We welcome many new backers which just signed up directly on the spot. The kind words and nice feedback were coming in constantly. Many visitors had the opportunity to try out the device on their own. Some of them installed the app on their own devices and printed their own text and graphics.
Here there are some of the highlights from our appearance at the show floor:
Despite being on the other side of the world and extremely busy with CES 2019 and follow-ups after the show, we are constantly in touch with the factory so that our backers can get their units on time. We have detected an issue in some of our pilot units where the 4-pogo pins connector between the dock and the printer unit is not working fully as expected. We have found the root cause and measures have been taken. We have to modify the PCBs where the pogo pins are mounted into and slightly adjust the plastic parts involved. Despite this and Chinese New Year approaching (PCBs manufactured in China), we are still well on track for the firsts deliveries next month.
We are organizing a short live stream this coming Friday January 18th at 17:00 UTC where we will show few tricks to get the most out of your printer and how to connect to your printer for the very first time. Everyone interested and particularly those who are still skeptical are welcome to join us and ask all kinds of questions.
Last but not least, we are incredibly happy to have more than 1000 people backing our project and we welcome all of our new backers!.
