ALIEN VS. MUSICAL
In October, 2014, longtime friends and colleagues Steve Troop (artist, puppet and creature designer) and Erik Przytulski (composer/lyricist) decided to join forces and create their very own musical. Their resulting show, inspired by years of friendship, experiences, and inner geekdom, asked one simple question:
What happens when the world of musical theatre meets the most terrifying and destructive alien in all cinema history?
Last summer, Erik and Steve's vision of combining the spectacle of a Broadway musical with the gruesome horror of extra-terrestrial mayhem and terror came to life when they presented a one-hour musical production of AVM at the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
10 AWARD NOMINATIONS!

"Alien Vs. Musical is that rarity—a show with equal appeal to Broadway lovers and to those who’ve never cared to see a musical in their lives." - Steven Stanley, Stage Scene LA
"The laughter starts the moment the first character steps on stage at 'Alien vs. Musical,' a clever mash-up of Broadway shows and Holly-wood sci-fi." - Bill Garry, Discover Hollywood
"… This was by far my favorite show at this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival." - Colin Mitchell, Bitter Lemons
THE ROAD TO NEW YORK!
ALIEN VS. MUSICAL was a success! This hour-long black-box production was met with overwhelming positive response, but was met with the same two comments:
1) "It was so much fun, I only wish it were longer!"
2) "This would make a great off-broadway show!"
And now, with YOUR help, that's EXACTLY what we are going to do!
To bring ALIEN VS. MUSICAL to a major New York City venue and produce a unique and immersive theatrical experience!
STEP 1: COMPLETED!
Create and produce ALIEN VS. MUSICAL with an amazing cast, crew, and creative team that can help bring our vision to life.
STEP 2: Current Phase!
To workshop a new, full-length (90 minute) version of AVM with enhanced sound, upgraded creature designs and effects, and give audiences a taste of what this show can do.
STEP 3: After The Fringe
Using new reviews and audience feedback from our production, we will be one step closer in approaching investors and producers to find a home for AVM in New York!

Risks and challenges
This year's production builds upon the success Alien Vs. Musical received last year! We have expanded the show from our previous 60-minute version to a full-length 90-minute version. Instead of a smaller black-box space, we are moving into a newly renovated full-sized proscenium style stage. Everything is being taken to the next level, giving us a preview of what this show is capable of being.
"Going big" means bigger challenges, bigger rewards, and yes... bigger budget. However, we believe that the momentum we've gained from last year's award-winning and critically acclaimed production will bring us another triumph!
Here's a general breakdown of how your contribution will help us deliver a strong, professional production this summer and beyond:
- Newly upgraded creature designs, props, costumes.
- Creative Team: Director, Choreographer, Music Director, Stage Manager.
- Compensating our incredible cast and crew!
- Enhancing the music with a full band.
- Rehearsal studio and theatre rental fees.
- Advertising, programs, postcards, and posters.
- Legal fees and representation to pave the way for future investors and opportunities on the road to New York!
So join us on this journey and support ALIEN VS. MUSICAL!
