Where is my unit?
After initial start-up the router is mind-blowing fast... however, as soon as day 2 Begins, the router is slower than any router I had ever had.
By the way after a few weeks I placed my portalwifi in the drawer to wait for more stable SW updates. Now it's half a year later and I made the very same experience again.
What can be set wrong? Or is there an update coming to address that?
By the way: I've read that many Amazon customers made the same experience, so a SW update which solves that would be key... otherwise I have to give-up on portalwifi... So please replay and let us know if there shall be hope. Thanks.

I have 3 barely used (opened, tested and put back in the box) European Portal's for sale if anyone's interested? I will be putting them up for sale on ebay shortly.
What (if any) implications does the announcement that Razer is going to be selling gaming-optimized version of the Portal. Does that mean that there will be improved support for the current router, or has it been abandoned?

hi, I have tried to setup port forwarding on this and I can't get it to work. it doesn't seem to allow external access, despite switching off my firewall in Win10 and I don't have any other security software... Has anyone been able to get this to work at all??

So the only "advantage" to getting it earlier than retail is that we had a fancy paperweight for months waiting for even the most basic router features to show up, and for that we paid extra.
Guess that's the first and last time I support you guys. The portal itself has eventually become a decent product, but if you launch a new campaign I'll wait for the product to appear in retail instead. That way I'll save a bit of money, avoid a lot of frustration, and I get a finished product.

Creator, the Portal device is not powerful at all. It lacks a good management system and configuration possebilities, which any other wifi router and software, app, has. Though basically functioning, it does not meet my expectations of the Portal you promoted in the KS campaign. What are you going to do about this situation?

This has gotten really weird , there should be something that can be done for kickstarter backers to help either get their products they helped back or offer some sort of refund....
Is there any chance we could have some firmware updates? the feature set is bare in the extreme both in the app and the web interface. If I had known that there would be pretty much no support for anything beyond the very, *very* basics then I would have looked elsewhere.
Sigh...I've been waiting for my current router to die out and it is dying, so now I am setting up the Portal (i was an early adopter). I have CenturyLink Gigabit connection which works well on my old Netgear but speeds were dropping off as it is several years old. I tried to hook up my Portal which has Portal-1.1.027_factory-1.0.75 firmware but I cannot get to the internet. My ISP requires that I do VLAN tagging in order for them to ready my PPPoE username and pw which I know is correct. With the minimalistic WebUI, I cannot setup VLAN tagging which is crucial for me to get internet. There is no manual way to upgrade the firmware from what I can tell. Am I just stuck now? Why not at least have a manual way to upgrade the firmware. I put in a support ticket, so hopefully there is some backdoor to do this. If not, I'm not sure what to do and worried I just wasted the $150 for my blood red colored one. Anyone else had this kind of issue? Looking on the website community section, I couldn't find any discussions on this kind of problem.
I just found out that you can't change the samba share name from the default or it won't work. It's possible that this only happens with meshed routers, but after I put the name back to the default that was there (look at the the default DLNA name if you don't remember) Samba started working
Samba worked for me until a few days ago. I reformatted the drive to do a local back up, not I can't connect. ftp works, but samba doesn't. Any ideas?

I also have not seen any difference in speed on the 2.4 but on the 5.0 it is slower the my original router I have not used it at all because of wife and kids keep complaining why is the wifi so slow I am using my original router that I got for free from Tmobile.
I also would like a refund.
I've tried contacting customer service through web forms and emails, send an PM to the creator, send a PM through Facebook and left a comment on their page today.
Let's see if I can get some response with a confirmed delivery date.

Next to report to Kickstarter and find the best way to escalate this as well as make the wider community aware of the total lack of customer service as well as the fact you may never receive what you pay for!

Yeah. This was a waste of money. I see no difference in my internet speed. I also have had so many problems with it and Comcast. Anyway I can get a refund?
Just wondering if there are any plans to offer a smaller version to mesh with the standard Portal? I live in a smaller home so I don't need another Portal, but something that will work just as well for one room that never gets a good signal. Thanks in advance!

Our apologies that our customer support engineer did not address your concerns and miscommunicated that your log files were accessed remotely.
Portal does not require or collect any personal information to setup and operate. In order to support you, we require your Portal ID from you. With your Product ID, our support engineers are able to check basic device health status of your Portal.
We cannot remotely generate or access operating logs. However, we may request that you generate these log files from the web browser interface and send them to us. The log files contain Portal state changes and error codes that can be useful in helping our engineers to troubleshoot problems with your Portal. Portal cannot track the websites you visit or collect the content of your network traffic.
We care greatly about our customer’s privacy. Our business is about selling great routers, not about selling customer data.

I recently raised a support ticket because the 2nd of my two Portals in the meshed network dropped out twice, following what appeared to be a recent firmware update.
While exchanging emails with the support team a comment was made where they indicated logs had been checked on my portal router while reviewing the the status of my device, your team had gained remote connectivity to my Portal Wifi, within my home to check it's status and interrogate logs. I was shocked and appalled that Ignition Labs / Portal team had backdoor access to my device which was used without my knowledge or consent!
Since I raised my concern a month ago, and followed up over a week ago, Zero response and Portal seem to mysteriously be ignoring my question!!

Hi sorry to say your support sucks. The Portal neither recognizes the NAS plugged into its ports nor works with the Philips Hues router. I tried to read ur support docs and also contacted your support by email.
