The Final Countdown, a Chat with Chris Roberts, and Lord Blackthorn!

We are in hour 10 of our 24 hour sit-in here at the Portalarium offices and we are so very humbled by your continued support and feedback!  If you haven’t swung by the Kickstarter page lately, we are hosting a continuous LIVE Dev Cam as we count down the final moments of the campaign with you, our community!

We also have some new Concept Art and special videos to share with you!

The Forgotten City: New Concept Art by Stephen Daniele

In the arid lands to the East lies a forgotten city filled with magic and wonder.  A place where few venture and even less return.  Are you ready to accept the risk for the chance of reward?

Don’t forget, you can download the full sized image from our Media Gallery.

If you missed today’s hangout with Star Citizen’s Chris Roberts and Richard Garriott, you can catch up with two industry legends right here!

And a special announcement from the Star Citizen Team!

Attention Citizens,

Breaking news! You heard earlier today that Richard Garriott’s Shroud of the Avatar will feature an item designed by Chris Roberts useable in-game… and we’ve decided to return the favor! If you back both Star Citizen and Shroud of the Avatar at the $40 Adventurer level or higher, we’ll give your pilot in Star Citizen a powerful crossbow straight out of Richard’s new world… perfect for providing an extra-lethal punch during boarding actions. The Shroud of the Avatar Kickstarter campaign ends in just twelve hours, so make your pledge NOW!

And finally, Lord Blackthorn speaks out on Shroud of the Avatar in this exclusive interview between Starr Long and Richard Garriott!

noticed we just got enough to get the theater! Can't wait for the poorly written plays! (c'mon...we gotta have some...that was one of the funniest scenes in U7)

I have severe ADD while watching these interviews.

I keep looking at the Savage Empire picture on the wall, the computer screen, the maps on the wall, and then I have to go rewind it and listen again because I wasn't paying attention.

      :D

      YESSS
      Underworld is reached !!!
      awesome.

I'm not kidding, if anybody from the team wants to visit the parisian catacombs, I'll be delighted to take you there !! Could be a great source of inspiration !

Will there be any crowdfunding for other episodes (2, 3, 4 & 5)? If so, when?

    5. Creator bforte on April 7, 2013

Nice! Look forward to using my SotA Xbow in Star Citizen.

@Portalarium - Please note that many folks who pledged at $40+ for Star Citizen didn't use Kickstarter as it was not available at the time that Chris started taking donations initially directly via his site. So I;ve pledged $60 for both games, but for SC it was directly through the SC site.

@Reed ~ Yes, you will have to pledge at $40 or higher to qualify for the Star Citizen in-game item and over $50 if you want to also receive the Star Citizen Relic in our game. ~FireLotus

hey devs, long time fan here, wishing you all the best and have fun at your sit in. wish I could join it streaming and show you all the meaning of Russian drinking, one toast for portalatium at a time... however I'm at a wedding party and after party and hotel lobby tonight lol. so just dropping in to say what's up and we're all celebrating tonight. going to have a drink for you all!! congrats Richard!

    8. Creator Reed Lipman on April 6, 2013

I backed at the first responder level. Does that mean I don't get the Star Citizen item, even though it's the same rewards as the $40 adventurer tier?

    9. Creator CedarMadness on April 6, 2013

So if you backed at the $25 early bird level, you don't get the bonuses?

    10. Creator ND3G on April 6, 2013

Gorgeous new art by the way. You are masterfully talented Stephen.

@Jason: "Why didnt you guys schedule the Kickstarter to end late afternoon on a weekday?"
Wouldn't that mean fewer people being able to participate because they're away from home? A weekend finish should be able to get a larger audience - though also more opportunity for watchful spouses to restrain impulsive pledging ("No Lord for you until you've washed those dishes, fixed the fence and repainted the house!").

    12. Creator Michel Cripps on April 6, 2013

I'll watch these vids in the morning as 2am here in UK. You guys should push an update out every 1-2 hours for the final stretch to keep the pledge momentum going to 1.8 M

I am with you Lori, I want to watch them but I am already using one eye for the live feed and the other is on the pledge count.

Jason - I think they are just new and made a newbie error. It happens!

:O @ Blackthorn vid... I'm too consumed with live chat so will watch tomorrow!
