About this project
Join 'The Natural Evolution of Soda!'™
Why can't soda be made with real fruit!? Five years ago we set out to merge our two passions, sparkling bubbles, and fresh picked fruit. While in pursuit of the perfect beverage, we found that the quality and flavors of conventional fruit based sodas were clouded by blended concentrates, juice fillers, high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors. We wanted a product that tasted like fresh, raw fruit! Imagine that!
Of course, we can make it ourselves! Like all entrepreneurs, we figured 'how hard could it be?' Working together in our kitchen, after months and months of very messy experimentation, we created the best tasting sodas we could have imagined, came up with the name Pop Culture®, and set out to figure out a way to bring our farm to bottle artisan creation to market. Working with a food production engineer and a food scientist, we created a unique, scalable production process that allows us to capture that fresh fruit flavor in each bottle.
Timing is everything! As they say, if it were easy, everyone would do it. The demand for Pop Culture is growing rapidly here on the Central Coast of California and we have very little product left to sell. The one bottler here in CA that can produce Pop Culture Artisan Sodas is closing for the spring for 3-6 months to move to a new, larger facility. This is great news for us down the road but today, it means we have to raise the $150,000 to meet the bottlers minimums or we miss an entire summer and fall of pure sparkling refreshment!
(the Pop Culture patent-pending 1x4 linear 4-pack carrier...creates space on the shelves and looks totally bad ass!)
The Pop Culture® "Farm to Bottle" approach: Pop Culture uses raw fruit to create it's beverages! This approach allows Pop Culture to do what no other soda company has done before... product tracking from the "Farm to Bottle". Our fruit comes from farms right here in California, Oregon, and Washington where some of the best fruit in world is grown. Pop Culture purchase fruit only from farms that are certified organic and/or grow certified Non-GMO fruit. We strongly oppose genetic modification of our food.
What's up with all the concentrates? Concentrate too hard and you'll forget where you came from! Soda's today are a far cry from yesteryear. "Where's the blueberry in the blueberry soda and why is there White Grape Juice concentrate in a grapefruit soda? What's a Natural Flavor anyway?" We asked ourselves the same questions? Virtually every juice based soda on the market today is made from concentrates and extracts and, in our opinion, the use of these concentrates yields a fairly bland, homogenous tasting beverage. Ingredients like Apple and White Grape Juice Concentrate are inexpensive, deflavorized juice "fillers" used to up the juice content of the beverage, add sugar, and take up space. That's all.
(our shout out to vinyl lovers everywhere)

When will my credit card be charged? How can I tell you mine is a gift?
On April 19th, the project will close. At that time, Kickstarter will charge your credit card and send you a request for additional information, including your address, payment clarifications, and gift information.
- How is Pop Culture organized?: Our company is a registered corporation in the State of California, Holo Holo LLC dba: Pop Culture Beverage Company.
- Reward #11 What is the "JimiChanga"? Back in our youth in Fairfield County, Connecticut, there was a little taco shack on Route 1 in Westport called "Tacos or What." They paid homage to the guitar god Hendrix with the deep fried, belly bomb of choice the "JimiChanga." So good! This one's for you Dad!
(a mess only a father would love during our second production run)
(fresh-press blueberry juice... absolutely beautiful aromatics)
(we can say something cheesy here like "True Loves" and it would all be true)
