The Polyphonic Spree is releasing a live album and concert documentary Feb 2013 as well as a new full length studio album May 2013.
“The Polyphonic Spree march to the beat of their own drum, promote vulnerability against all odds, prove that choirs should dance, offer relief from the seductive trap of cool, know about sadness but point to the lightness, are more than a band ( A community? A penal colony? Noah’s new ark?), should be seen live, once confused with terrorists but only by the very very afraid, spiritual midwife to your fears, a house with all the doors removed, an inexplicable slogan that you know is right, proof that the revolution may be soft and loud at the same time. Explosions can be fun and easy. The mess is honest. We have each other.” --- Mike Mills (filmmaker/artist)
"Having always been a peoples' band and with a DIY mentality, it's
safe to say Kickstarter is a perfect platform for The Polyphonic Spree
as well as all forward thinking artists who have fought the battle of
music corporations time and time again." --- Tim DeLaughter

2013 FOUR STEP PROCESS
1. "You+Me" Live Album (February 2013)
The Polyphonic Spree toured in three phases during 2012. We decided to document the experience with a live recording at Webster Hall in New York City on May 23, 2012. The audio was recorded to a multi-track session.
Here is a sneak peek of some of the live audio in its raw form:
The following remains to be completed and/or paid for in order to release the live album:
manufacturing of CD & LP
2. "You+Me" Concert Documentary (February 2013)
In addition to the audio recording of the "You+Me" show we hired a six person camera crew to document the evening in New York. We also invited Cameron Smith out on tour to capture the band behind the scenes in Fort Worth, Boston, Washington, D.C., and New York.
Here is a rough cut Patrick Cone put together of the intro of the concert documentary for this kickstarter campaign:
3. "NEW" Full Length Studio Album (May 2013)

Along the way we will be updating backers, offering exclusives for those who have contributed, adding rewards that we dream up or unearth, and maybe even telling you a joke or two. Our reward packages run the gamut from basically a preorder to joining us on stage so there is something for EVERYONE. Most importantly check back OFTEN and PLEASE share this with fellow dreamers.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
We will have a team including the band and volunteers to get your rewards and gifts to you in a timely manner. Once release dates are firm we intend to get all backers their audio/video items BEFORE anyone else gets their hands on them. Teamwork makes the dream work.
We will make theh DVD readable anywhere.
Will be valid in regions we are able to hit. Europe/UK should be an area we visit in 2013 at some point. Japan and Australia cross your fingers.
The LPs will come with either a CD or digital download for those on the go.
Several people have written to us looking for information on how one can purchase multiple rewards at the same time. I myself have had this issue with other projects that I have supported. Unfortunately at this time Kickstarter does not support the simultaneous purchase of multiple rewards. However, the way around this is to simply select a reward and then pledge the additional value of whatever additional rewards that you want. At the end of the Kickstarter period we will be sending around a survey that will allow you to remind us of your multiple purchases.
From a shipping perspective, if you are an international purchaser you can include shipping for one order. (The one with highest cost.) If the cost of your shipping ultimately exceeds that of one order we will settle up prior to shipment. We are not looking to make money on shipping so we will only charge what is necessary to get your products to you in proper working condition. Thank you for your continued support and remember to tell your friends, post about our campaign on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, etc...
