The Polysher is designed to only work with PolySmooth and alcohol; in addition PLA and ABS are not polishable with alcohol.Last updated:
The Polysher is designed to only use alcohol or alcohol solutions (with concentrations of 70% or higher) as the polishing liquid. We do not recommend other liquids/solvents other than isopropanol or ethanol.

In short, yes! Safety has always been one of the key considerations in designing the Polysher.
Our technology is intrinsically safer
- No heating is involved
- The nebulizer technology requires only a very small reservoir
- It is a liquid-phase polishing rather than vapor-phase polishing process (the latter is more dangerous for a number of reasons)
We have also implemented a number of safety features into the machine:
- Multiple sensors to detect any sign of malfunction of the nebulizer (e.g. running dry)
- Chamber open/close sensor (the machine won’t start if the chamber is open, and will automatically terminate if the chamber is accidentally open during polishing)
- All electronic components (running at very low voltages) are properly sealed, and no spark can be generated inside the chamber

PolySmooth is neither PLA nor ABS; it is a new material based on PVB (polyvinyl butyral), formulated/designed specifically to combine "smoothability" and excellent printing characteristics. It is the core of the technology.Last updated:

a) For backers in North America, the cost consists of shipping expenses from China to US warehouse, from the warehouse to the recipients, the custom clearance/importing duties and fees, warehouse storage and handling fees, as well as possible repackaging cost at the warehouse.
b) For backers in Europe, the cost consists of shipping expenses from China to the Netherlands warehouse, from the warehouse to the recipients, the custom clearance/importing duties and VAT, warehouse storage and handling fees, as well as possible repackaging cost at the warehouse. The duty and VAT will be paid at customs by Polymaker, and there should be no further charge on top. At this moment we have to say that we are not 100% sure there won’t be extra taxes/local VAT, while we will try to cover what we can to ensure a good experience for the backers.
c) For backers located outside of Europe and North America, we will ship the rewards from China directly, and the backers are liable for the duty/taxes when receiving the rewards (Where applicable), as it’s too difficult for us to estimate the possible duties/taxes in every country.Last updated:
a) To ensure a safe transportation, we need to put enough protective materials such as foams in the packaging, which leads to a higher dimensional weight (according to our current sample packaging, the carton size is around 52cm*36cm*42cm), although the Polysher is only around 4kg, with the filaments together, the courier company may charge at the weight of around 20kg.
b) The shipping cost consists of not only the courier expenses, also other fees/taxes listed above.
c) With the larger numbers of shipments, we will have a better position to renegotiate with our logistics partners, if the cost can go down significantly, we are happy to offer more “surprises” as extra rewards when shipping them out.Last updated:

No - the Polysher is NOT a 3D printer. You still need a extrusion-based, FDM/FFF printer in order to use our new products.
Specifically, PolySmooth is a new filament that you can print with your 3D printer, just like how you print with your PLA. Once the printing is done, you can post-process your printed objects in the Polysher to obtain the amazing surface finish.
