"Uttering a word is like striking a note on the keyboard of the imagination."- Wittgenstein

The Word Project seeks to capture the more elusive words that roam the world and introduce them with whimsical detail and colorful fanfair.
The Word Project book will be a soft cover, 10"x10". Each piece will get its own spread accompanied by its meaning, pronunciation & an example of use. Since 2002 I have been raiding the attics, basements and dusty  cupboards of the English language in search of intriguing, odd &  obscure words for my Word Project. I’ve been encouraged to publish my work, and it has made the rounds to a number of publishing house and while recognized for its merits, no investment was made. I’d like to change all of that with your help.
Where you come in. The Word Project now includes at least 125 words in 115 pieces of art. There are only 2 criteria for inclusion in The Word Project: the word  must be new to me (otherwise its just showing off) and it must set my  creativity pinging. Once the word is selected I will then explore, expand, explode, pun on, vamp on  the words in my bricolage* style. Each word gets its own figure, and  its own frame, but sometimes groups naturally form and duets and trios do occur.

As soon as the goal has been met and the pledge time is finished, The Word Project poster will be shipped to everyone who has pledged at the First Level or above.

Those who pledge at the Second Level will also receive a copy hot off the presses.

Those who pledge at the Third Level will receive a signed copy.

Those who pledge at the Fourth Level will receive a signed copy, and a piece of Word Project original art (see caveats & conditions in the "rewards" section.)

Those who pledge at the Uber Fifth level will receive a signed copy, and original, custom art of a word of their choice(see caveats & conditions in the "rewards" section.)

Please spread the the news about The World Project to the world to delight linguaphiles everywhere.
