Dang, was really lookin forward to a game that has finally gotten away from the whole army scene like Payday the Heist. Hope they got picked up by a good studio and that it doesn't get ruined because of it.

    4. Matthew Hinz on April 21, 2012

probably got picked up by a studio

    5. Victor Chen on April 21, 2012

      Hey Guys,

Thank you so much for the incredible response to the game. We're shutting down the kickstarter account but this is by no means the end of Police Warfare. News will be coming.

No. Your pledge is only actually charged if/when the goal is reached, so none of our pledges will be charged or used. On that note: Sad Face: I really wanted this game. Hop they have some good news soon about what they will be doing with it.

      "Funding Canceled

Funding for this project was canceled by the project creator 2 minutes ago."

      Uh? What happened?

    16. Tom Neudorf on April 21, 2012

@Jason If the goal isn't reached, they have to find the funding some other way. We would probably get cut off.

    17. Jason on April 21, 2012

What happens if the goal is not reached, but a publisher picks you up? Will any of the kickstarter rewards be available especially the in-game rewards?

    19. Luke on April 20, 2012

i really hope they get enough funding for this game, it does look really good, but i agree that it should have a trailer with ingame footage which would help

    20. Jarno Lehtinen on April 20, 2012

It would be nice to have some game mode where the sides are asymmetrical. For example the game could force there to be more players on the police side, but the robbers had the advantage of picking which places to strike and they didn't need to care about collateral damage.

    21. rationsauce on April 20, 2012

yoooosh! backed this up after i collected enough money for it. looking forward to playing the game. loving the concept so far. :)

    22. Alex Dawson on April 20, 2012

Backed, this seems like a fun idea to me. Nice to see you are going for the Battlefield style rather than COD too. I hope you will be tougher on team killing unlike battlefield though and please please please have a hardcore mode, that's all as I play in BF... in fact as far as I'm concerned auto aim, mini-maps and lots of health should be banned from these kinds of shooters ;)

    23. Paul McGoldrick on April 20, 2012

I wish you every success with the project, really hoping the funding comes through as I've been waiting for around 20 years for someone to develop this!
Will the game be an out and out shooter or while playing on the side of the robbers will there be a possibility to surrender? I think that additional complexity would add a lot to the game. Players on the SWAT time would lose stats if they shoot a robber during surrender mode. Small video in the corner of the mission summary screen discussing how the "disgraced officer has been suspended pending investigation into their actions" etc..

    25. SirAleks on April 19, 2012

I agree with Steve Gerdes. I am from Switzerland and pledged more than 100$ for the 100$ reward just for the international shipping. You guys should really consider to remind people to pledge some more for shipping costs. ;-)

Sven Gerdes on April 19, 2012

Just backed, but you guys should really consider to charge something for international shipping, i'm from Germany and pretty sure that the Physical Content that comes with my Pledge would almost eat it up if you don't charge extra.
Here some guys from a different Project just told about there funding being eaten up: "...Then came "prize fulfillment," things like printing all the posters and shirts promised to backers and shipping them around the world, which cost a cool ten thou, a staggering number the team did not see coming."

Would hate to see too much money going into shipping instead of the Game Development.

      >... how about cross platform networking?>

Only if it's optional and easy to avoid!

Playing against the added responsiveness and control PC-users have is deterring — not to talk about all the potential hacking and cheating on top of that.

@Alan Zhou; PC version wouldn't die once the console version comes out... I think more people would still play it on PC, since playing on PC is better if you have good enough specs.

So about the console and PC versions, how about cross platform networking? I'd hate to see the PC servers die out once the console version comes out.

If this winds up being developed on consoles and then ported to PC I'm out. I'm so tired of that aging technology holding game devs back.

This sounds like an awesome concept and I need to play this game. Can't wait to see more.

Over all from what i have seen, this looks like a very interesting concept. I hope there is a campain with a coop option.

I have a couple of ideas.
I was thinking along the lines as every wall is breakable, even ceiling and floors, depending on what floor youre on. So that the cops could breach at any angle, and the robbers the same. Or even have enough room in between walls like in real life, so you can either walk or crawl through.

    40. Elastic Games Creator on April 17, 2012

@Deen: Controls and weapon feel is VERY important to us. Theres nothing worse than FPS with sloppy or loose controls...it needs to be tight, responsive and offer good feedback. We're focusing a lot of attention in this area.

Looks like a very interesting concept, seems to have really cool ideas for game play and even the graphic design looks awesome. Only concern is that things may not play out as we expect them to.

Hopefully the controls feel fluid and the multiplayer experience can compare to (or hopefully exceed) that of Battlefield 3.

@Christian Allen, Thanks man! Can't wait to play Takedown!
@Linsy: Thats exactly right. We're also still growing and expanding our engineering team as we move farther into development so expect that to grow.
