Podo Labs (est. 2013) is experienced in user-friendly Bluetooth products, having raised over $1M on Kickstarter with their Podo "Stick & Shoot" cameras. Jack by Podo Labs is a byproduct of their Bluetooth streaming and product design expertise. 

 

 

                   

 

 

 

 

 

       

 

 

 

Risques et défis

Jack is a relatively simple product in comparison to the Podo Camera, which we have developed and shipped since 2015. The primary components are the Bluetooth protocol, battery management, and user-focused design--areas we consider our strengths. There is no mobile application necessary with Jack, meaning ubiquitous device compatibility will be much simpler to achieve.

The primary risk is of production delays. Coordinating with an overseas factory and maintaining quality throughout every step is a challenge. Fulfillment and shipping becomes a hurdle when dealing with thousands of orders. We will not rush through these steps and will tackle them carefully, one by one. We will take our products to the "design for manufacturing" step soon, and the target is to ship out units is June 2017.

There is some risk that items will not come exactly as pictured, due to manufacturing considerations. The promised function will not be different, and any style changes if any will be iterative and non-significant to the original look and feel.

We are still involved in the distribution of our Podo cameras but since development and manufacturing setup is scheduled to finish before Jack production is started, the schedule of either product should not be affected. Our goal is to grow our company with both lines of products, so that we can achieve better economies of scale and grow our engineering and customer support teams.
