March 6 Update

Dear Backers,

As announced in our prior update, production is underway to deliver all of the Jack units! They are expected to finish in batches of 6-10,000 every 4 weeks. If you need to update your shipping address, you may do so here: https://jack-by-podo-labs.backerkit.com/ If you have not answered the survey to provide us your shipping details to this point, your Jacks will be shipped after everyone else's.

Here is what 25,000 metal clips look like:

These will be welded and eletro-plated to be finished. The other components such as the plastics and PCBs are being completed at the other suppliers as well. The PCBs have been flashed with the latest firmware (which has been continuously worked on and upgraded during this time) and will be tested thoroughly this week. Assembly may begin as early as Friday.

Thank you everyone for your support, and especially to those who sent us encouraging messages to pull through. It has been a challenging 12 months but we all had a shared goal, and we're happy that it will be a happy ending.

Please look forward to more updates soon, and have a great Tuesday!

Best,

The Podo Labs Team

Hi there. Can I get my money back?

First time as backer to kickstarter project, after 1 very long year has nothing to show in my hand. Today March 19, 15 months after. Zilch, zero. Next time have to be extra careful. I already bought 3 bluetooth adapter for 15 to 30 dollars, all worked well and no need to wait 15 months

Good update. Can't wait to try it out! Any other updates regarding earphone too?

    5. Victor on

I don't understand why this is taking so long. There are hundreds of devices like these on Amazon and eBay that work great. I have a few. I probably won't notice a difference with this one and it probably uses the same hardware internally.

Thanks for the updates. More info is better - try to build back the confidence that you've lost. Being honest, open, and fully transparent is the best approach for a Kickstarter. Keep the updates coming. I still have devices that I need this for, even if there are alternatives on the market. Hope to receive it ASAP!

Won’t believe it until I see it. I understand that issues arise, but the lack of transparency coupled with what seems like outright lies leaves a bad taste in the mouth. That being said this is crowd funding and thus a gamble. Unfortunately even if it does deliver, the tech is basically outdated. We win some and lose some. On to the next.

I ended up getting a bluetooth headset awhile back and I'm annoyed with the sound delay between the device and the headphones (or at least for my particular device.) So, while this will be a cool thing to have finally, I don't know if Wireless Headphones are the way to go just yet.

I want to let you all know a few positive things, and empathize with your struggle. First off, I’m going to use my Jack as soon as it arrives. I’ve been holding off ordering another one for all this time because I knew I had one coming. Second, I’m sorry you’re going through the pain of this horrible product launch—it’ll be insanely easier once you’re working on growing sales channels and you’ve got stable production. And finally, I know how stressful it is to grow a company and I would imagine you’ve been through an especially painful experience, but if you’re able to survive as a company I reassure you, you’ll find it gets easier with every launch.

This is a start. Unfortunately this update have the same level of trust as the last ones. I will not trust you until I see the products. There are some other projects which proved to be a scam and they said the same. We are struggling or whatever motive but we are sending next week. The same, there are other projects which had issues with production and they were almost 1 year late but they had a continuous communication and transparency and most of the backers supported them. In you case, the communication is contradictory. If indeed you are good guys as you are saying than you have a big communication problem more than a technological one. All this hate messages and low level of trust is by your fault. Most of people here will understand and support someone who tries but encounter technical issues as you seemed to encounter in the beginning but no one will support a scammer. Maybe you should look at the message you are sending. BTW, your last phrase with the condescend tone is not doing anything right at this moment (2c).

I've already moved on to an excellent pair of bone conduction headphones, which serve me better than the pair of Jacks I ordered could, but if I do get them, I can think of at least two ways those could be put to good use.
      Here's hoping for delivery.

Fingers crossed, and knocking on wood; good job seeing this thing through, guys. It looks like you've tried to do as right by your backers as you could, through difficult circumstances. A lot of projects are never able to deliver anything.

(Some of these people need to look at the name of the site they're posting on, and grow up.)

Anyways, I'm still excited at the prospect of receiving one of these, in the coming month or three.

I'm glad to hear that things are moving in the right direction and looking forward to when mine is delivered. You and the rest of the team have overcome every obstacle and kept us informed of the delays. Personally, I think you have done a good job. You could have produced a cheap piece of crap and sent it out, but you did the right thing and chose to delay delivery so you could provide us with a high quality product that looks great and works well. You and the rest of the Podo Labs Team have my appreciation for your many hours of stressful work. Keep up the good work and overlook the ignorance of some of the posters.

Well, I certainly hope the Jack lives up to my expectations, because it has the potential to be a really nice bluetooth adapter. If it actually does, then it was worth the wait.
Still, this project has been delayed a bit more than I feared and a lot more than I hoped, so I hope you people from Podo learned something from that to prevent this from happening again in the future.

    25. Justin Jose Caraang on

If I actually get it, I can use it when drivong my wife's car as she doesnt have BT. but if not im good. Too many inaccuracies with each update.

They did it again. In the last update (not even 10 days ago) they said it will be 3,000 units per week. Now they talk about 1,500 - 2,500 units per week. And they should not be shipped weekly as promised but only every fourth week.
Again we didn't receive one word about the carrying cases, the headphones, the sport cases and the stereo adapters. these goods have to be delivered too.
@Podo, please clarify that mismatch in numbers produced and shipping timeline and post information about the additional goods you have to deliver.

Some of you guys are just cruel! Delays happen...unexpected things happen! I’ll admit that this has been a huge delay and I’m annoyed but still... There was this narrative going around that these folks are thieves and have stolen everyone’s money!!

All products become obsolete at some point. I would have liked to get my money’s worth from this product. Maybe I still will. But hopefully the product starts shipping soon so AT LEAST people will stop saying they stole from all of us.

    35. DPniRadhallaigh on

Keep going guys - some of us are fine to wait until you're happy its ready for us! New products never come easily - you're staying with it, thats a sign of commitment, no matters what others say! Best of luck in the final laps to completion and delivery!

    36. David Rosnow on

@Jim, not happy it took so long. Still having tried a lot of the BT adaptors out there, I see a couple key benefits here: support for in-line mic and support for the in-line remote. Those two features, assuming they work, have the potential to make this 10x more useful than a standard BT adaptor. (Where I think the delay has hurt is that many of us by now will have likely moved on to buy BT headphones.)

    37. Tricia A Louis on

even if I EVER get this product, I probably won't use it very much -- it has past its prime by taking SO long -- sad -- it was a neat thing, but just will go into my tech drawer (that is if I ever see it............)

    38. Daniel MB on

You’re doing right. Keep working! Cheers.

2 or 3 years ago, or however long ago it was, these things might have been interesting.

Now with all Bluetooth headphones ......?

I fail to understand the issues around these things, I can buy Bluetooth headphone adaptors on Amazon for $17, and they work very well.

I'm excited to finally be receiving my Jack, but I'm disappointed it took so long. I probably won't be backing PODO Labs again. Hope these Jacks work well and were worth the wait. Thanks for pulling through. I think in the future its worth it to back companies using american manufacturing even if its more expensive or just pay the market price after it has come to the mass market.
