This is a amazing clip design i never seen before.
Just curious the clip can fit securely on the shoulder bag, Looks like it will loose on to the bottom of shoulder strap or drawing string. Is it only fit for clothes or necklace?

    2. Stuart Bullen on October 7, 2017

I have to agree that the clip on the video sample looks pretty poor compared with the previous designs. It almost looks like an after thought rather than part of the original design

Thanks guys! I'm very much a 'it will get here when it gets here' backer. However I do think that you were premature with the Belle campaign and would have received much more funding if you had waited until the jacks had arrived on backers doorsteps. I was a super early bird backer but got cold feet: losing $299 is a lot more than $19. If I had the jack I think that I would have been happy to back the Belle as it's awesome, but I too will wait on the retail version. Best of luck with both of these and I'll watch out for the 2018/19 campaign.

You run into issues with the electronics redesign and then with the manufacturer partner. That’s understandable and you worked hard to get those resolved.

This latest update is a bit of a let down for two reason:

      1) You make it sound as it’s a surprise the factory is on a week holiday and all fault is on the factory. No it’s not. You missed to properly communicate us the backers that financed you that there's a short brake coming and that will slow you down. It's not the fault of the factory, it's you as you set our expectations high, once again, when you must have known the factory is going for a holiday.

      2) You redesigned the metal clip bad. I mean, that's a huge gap between the clip and rest of the device. You can now fit a cat between them. That's not necessary and looks worse to the original design as well. I suppose challenges with the clip production made it so that you couldn't make a smaller radius, but still, it's not better than the original design, it's looking to be worse instead. I'm assuming otherwise you would have explained us how this bigger radius is better for the product. Now you do not even mention it even though it's so obvious just looking at it, and you've taken the photos so that the big radius wouldn't show up as big. To me this reads as trying to hide and keep quiet about it.

So, too bad there's yet another set of setbacks. But good thing you finally have everything ready for mass-production, it's been a ride! Now take all the feedback with you and keep your head high, you've learned a lot, again, and you can make it all right by doing the right things going forward. Be open and honest and you'll have the trust with your backers.

    5. Kelvin on October 7, 2017

Agree with Josef and the rest on the metal clip. Doesn't look sleek compared to the ones seen in the campaign video/pictures or even updates along the way.

The clip was one of the problems contributing to the delay, but if this is how the final production level product is gonna look, I'm just gonna be disappointed.

Nevertheless, thanks for the update. I hope you guys didn't cut corners to deliver this or to make time for your Bell's development.

Looking at the pictures I'm a bit worried about the clip to be honest. Maybe not the thickness of it, I'm sure it won't break but the shape. It only gets really close to connecting at one point, the end of the clip. This I'm afraid means it will come loose easier than if the clip ran more parallell to the body of the jack. Where the hole clip would help keeping it in place instead of just the end of the clip. Hope I'm wrong, sure they tested this.

    7. Zhou Zhefang on October 6, 2017

@Josef Svensson I agree with you too, hope they didn't cut corners on the durability of the device...

    8. DPniRadhallaigh on October 6, 2017

Thanks for the update guys - hang in there and deliver when you feel it represents you and your brand and not before it - noone should come on kickstarter with preconceived ideas or expect delivery to go as planned - in this business, nothing happens as expected and gettting a product that works is far more satisfactory than getting one early that fails! Keep up the great work - I continue to support this and can't wait to get it when its ready!!!

      on October 6, 2017

@Josef Svensson I kinda agree, its a far cry from the one in the photos, I hope that it's durable enough to last

Am I the only one that feel like the metal clip on the "production level unit" doesn't really look like the metal clip on the Jack that has been shown in the videos/pictures? The new metal clip is too thin, doesn't have a pleasing design and takes too much space the way it bends up. The original jack metal clip sat tightly against the unit itself and now it kind of looks like it doesn't really belong to the unit.

Is this really what it's going to look like?

@Christian, before talking about how kickstarter work, put back the brain on your head. Kickstarter works as a crowd funding platform, however, most of them just use it as a pre order payment without bearing the legal obligations. Therefore, they are violating what a crowd funding platform should be and backer should be the one who have say to it but not creator.

      Hi Podo,

How are you guys doing? I hope you are making progress and are not overwhelmed by the scale of what you've created. I love being an investor on kickstarter, you get to see people bringing their product to market, feel their ups and downs, see them succeed or fail all in the public eye. It's such a ride at times. Shame not everybody gets it but that's life I guess. An update some time in October would be cool

    17. Christian Kellner on October 5, 2017

Man.. what is this ‚deliver or refund’ mentality nowadays?

Don’t u kids know that you are not backing on an actual product, but rather on an idea??

An idea that might be developed into a whole new direction while underway. Kickstarter is a bit like gambling. You never know if this project will make it and if it’s exactly what you’ve seen in the beginning.

If you need the money you’ve invested, don’t spend it as you did exactly that: you’ve invested. But not into a finished product but into an idea.

Stop bugging the creators with stupid refund if not in time discussions. They have better things to do than dealing with this shit.

Sorry to be that rough, but someone has to say something.

Instead of ‘deliver of refund’ I would suggest: wait or don’t invest.

@All - Hi backers, we're sorry for the lack of update! We're working heads-down getting this thing delivered, and the Chinese "Golden Week" week-long holiday is impacting us in this first week of October.

We will provide an update Friday, and answer every individual comment by then as well. We promise we are getting this done.

September update says "vast majority of backers will receive tracking numbers and packages by the end of October. It would not surprise us if the majority receive theirs by at end of October, after assembly and shipping picks up the most speed from weeks of experience, and may finish the last of it in early November."

I'm sure shipping hasn't even started

    32. David Rosnow on October 2, 2017

I'd suggest that you focus only on functional issues. Don't worry about cosmetic stuff, that has to be good enough now and just ship what ya got even if imperfect. The window on this product is closing or already has closed.

    42. Chris Tavares on September 28, 2017

It would be great to get a quick note here that production has started, just so we know another snag hasn't been hit, and to stoke the anticipation of delivery.

For those upset that it's late - it's only three months behind the original estimate! The June date (like all kickstarter dates) was an ESTIMATE. Do you know what an estimate is? It's a guess based on the information you have at the time. Any project that involves actual manufacturing is going to hit delays due to unforeseen circumstances. As long as Podo labs is continuing to work forward in good faith, and they've demonstrated that they are, they deserve the slack. It take time for these things, and for something new there are things you don't know about until you hit them.

If it was a year behind schedule with no communication from the creators, THEN I'd start to worry. As it stands, it looks like we'll get these by the end of the year. Within six months for kickstarter is basically on time, that's how it works around here.

I've backed a couple of kickstarters that are over four years behind schedule on delivery, and one's stuck in a lawsuit and will probably NEVER come out at this point. This project's basically on track.

    43. Kelvin on September 26, 2017

Yeah i know you take it serious, no disrespect was meant. It's just strange that some people seem to forfet that this is a kickstarter product and not a basic shop. Delays are bound to be inevitable with complicated products, especially when you're dedicated to ensuring the product is worthy to carry your name and the the best it can be for all us backers. Keep up the good work.

    49. Jared Chen on September 23, 2017

How long more do you need us to wait?? I think since you are not delivering as it supposed to. The refund should be under one of the options for the backpackers!

    50. Podo Labs 4-time creator on September 21, 2017

@C.c. Alex Teh - Thank you for the words of support. You're right our goal is to survive and thrive; that way we can produce better things for everybody rather than being small and scrappy forever. We are doing our best and we want everyone to be happy!

      @Brenda Teasley - You're very welcome!

@Yehuda Cavalli, Jerry Ernst III - We're very sorry for the delay and feel your frustration. We will deliver your product. It's true there is no monetary return on "investment" but I hope you can feel pride in your investment in an idea and project, that you helped realize and became the very first to join in. That is I think the spirit of Kickstarter.

@Lucky McKeen - We are doing our absolute best. Whatever we ship, we want to be proud of. And of course we want to use it ourselves. Thank you so much.

@sam porridge - We appreciate the support notwithstanding the colorful language haha. You're right ideas are easy, making stuff is hard. We are working on it every day.

@LK Lee - We will absolutely do so.

@john c - We're very sorry for that experience. This product having lots of electrical and software components is a bit on the complicated side for Kickstarter. But that is no excuse and we are working on it as fast as we can. We promise to keep you updated.

@Adrian Martin - Sorry to hear about troubles with other projects. We will deliver soon!

@Thiago Minato, Mayo - Please review the latest update and sorry for the delay!

@Annie - Thank you for the kind words!

@Krystal, Stefan Lütjen - Please change your address in Backerkit via the same link you used to answer the original survey. Thank you!

@Roger Smith, Howard Gibson - I'm glad you find it amusing but for us we take it very seriously. We aim to settle this and ship very soon.

@Aleksander Kowalski - Apple, Google, Samsung, Verizon, and Microsoft, among some others I'm sure, have already patched the vulnerability for your devices. Jack itself does not run Android and os is not vulnerable to any takeover, so the Bluebone vulnerability is unfortunately something that exists directly with your device, irregardless of the Jack. Best of luck with the patch!

@Stefan Knöchel - We did not offer the early bird price that our earliest supporters got, and we really do try to make prices as low as possible for as many people including extending early bird for a while for this campaign. We're sorry to cause that disappointment however, and only backers from this campaign are all receiving the free carrying cases which were a $8 add-on.

@Jared Chen, Ofer - I'm sorry but we do not offer refunds on this campaign as stated in the original FAQ and past updates. Everyone's contribution is important for seeing this through to the end; we are almost there please hold on a little longer!

@Panaikran Chaisutatip, Annie - Thank you!

@Craig Friedman - We will post an update next week and definitely share more of our story :) And ultimately, the first shipping announcement! That is our goal.

      Thank you everybody!
