About this project
Cult of Mac - The PocoWool might have the worst Kickstarter video yet seen, making the clothes-fitting-room scene in Pretty Woman look like a Jim Jarmusch movie, but it looks to be the hottest iPhone bag/purse/clutch around.
Apple Magazine - There's no reason accessories for our iPhones have to be merely functional. They can be fashionable, too, but we don't often get that choice. The PocoWool changes all that. Not only is it fashionable and functional, it also solves some problems.
Trend Of Hunter - Pocowool has just enough room for your other essentials such as money and cards and even has an area where you can attach your keys to.
Simon Blog - This stylish clutch is more than just a case. You can wear the statement with this functional PocoWool that can carry your car keys, iPhone and credit cards.

We also just made a video to show: the cards won't slip out from the open side.
What is Pocomaru:
Pocomaru is a lean startup company based in Seattle, Washington. We began last year with the goal of being the premier online mobile accessory store, by providing the most stylish accessories for iPhones that are functional, high-quality, and above all else, FUN. Our product lines have expanded to include accessories for iPads, macBooks, and Android phones. We are a group of fun, fashionable mobile-loving geeks and designers who want to share our passion with the masses.
To design and make products that will appeal to both genders and all ages, all while focusing on exceptional quality and service. We were more like a personal shopper of the coolest mobile accessories, seeking them out for delivery to you. Now, we want to create our own Pocomaru brand mobile accessories. This Kickstarter was started to showcase our first in-house created and designed product lines, the first being the PocoWool series. The hope and vision of this Kickstarter project is to help us fund the creation of PocoWool series and more unique product lines.
We have set our goal $2,000 initially, but much more is needed to turn our dream and passion into reality. $2,000 is a good start and it would be for the minimum order requirement from the manufacturer. If you and your friends support us more, we already have a strategic plan in place, including our stretch goals! But we need to be funded here first. Thank you so much for your help and support! We do need your support and encouragement!
With your pledge:
- 1. You’ll help us to complete our first in-house design collection.
- 2. You’ll encourage us a lot to continue making our own designs on mobile accessories for other devices whatever you have.
- 3. We will have enough orders to secure our manufacturers’ minimum requirement to start the first production process to make our design into product.
- 4. You’ll help us to create at least two jobs locally in Seattle (with your help and your friends' help, we hope we can create more jobs here in Seattle).
- 5. You’ll receive free shipping on your rewards placed after this Kickstarter project.
- 1. Keep your phone close and safe!
- 2. Customize with a wrist-let or cross-body strap from your other not-in-use purses to "recycle-use".
- 3. Grab & Go design for quick errands to carry your essentials.
- 4. Accessibility to charging and headphone ports while device is in clutch. No more accidental drops!
- 5. Attach your keys to the clutch.
- 6. Made for use with all iPhone generations! Will also fit similarly sized mobile devices of other brands and iPods.
- 7. Keep your phone and cards close to you at parties and events.
- 8. Stay connected no matter where you are!
- 9. Pocomaru is not just an accessory, but a truly unique and fun lifestyle! Be hip. Be bold. Be YOUniquely you!
The idea to create the PocoWool clutch came to me after a lifetime of memories from my childhood. Being a “Gen Y” individual myself, I, like many others in my age bracket grew up with the influence of grandparents. Some were even raised by their grandparents, many others cared for by their grandparents while our parents were working. In primary school, my parents were very busy with their jobs, and they did things in an orchestrated manner to keep me together and organized. Logistics of classes ending sooner than my parents work day created a need for my schoolmates and I to carry keys to our homes around our necks for safekeeping and convenience, without fear of losing them in our backpacks. As an adult, I found myself still carrying my keys around my neck, and at times, I even dropped my phone in my name tag pocket around my neck. Then I noticed that associates in professional offices, retail shops, and grocery stores also carried their badges and keys on lanyards around their necks!
A-ha! PocoWool was created. An idea born of childhood necessity that evolved into a hybrid of my inner geek, fashionista, and busy lifestyle. Often when I need to run to the grocery store, I need no more than my phone, keys, and a card and maybe cash-I don’t need the bulk of carrying my full-sized purse, but my clutches were beaded and looked like I was heading to a fancy dinner or party. The PocoWool combines casual, urban style with genuine, quality materials that are assembled by hand for durability and lasting style.
The PocoWool series was designed with portability and personality in mind. Each clutch has 2 grommet-lined holes to attach cross-body and clutch straps, keychains, carabineers, and fun accessories to show off your individual tastes. It is also designed with functionality in mind, a secure snap closure and open ends for access to charging and headphone ports are also included…we thought of it all! And best of all, the PocoWool mini clutch protects your mobile device from harmful drops and scratches. Create your own memories with your own Poco-Style!

Risks and challenges
Like other designers, a risk/challenge is posed in customer reception and demand for the product. We understand that not everyone will love our designs, but we are committed to delivering products that are progressive, fashion-forward, and sophisticated. We are also aware of risks posed by imitators, and hope to receive enough funding support to copyright our designs. We are firmly grounded in our foundation of our core competencies, our strong creative team, our production capability, and delivery ability. The key is our best customer service and we create products based on our customers' dreams.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Yes, because we don't have the budget to hire someone professional to do it. So, Heidi did it all by herself as the first timers as the video guy, editor, model, and speaker. It is a little hard to film herself when she was talking. She filmed herself more than 80 times for that part and chose the best out of those 80+ copies and got this one. She learned iMovie by herself for the first time and she is still learning the camera she was using or the film. The video is not perfect, however, she believe her supporters would understand this. She is not giving herself an excuse. She is working on it and would have a better video. However, the Kickstarter project is not just about the video, right? It is about the coolest product/project could be born with the limited budget and people could have the product as soon as possible for this holiday season. Thank you very much supporters! Cheers. Heidi
No. We designed it just perfect that the cards won't slip out from the open end at all. I will make a video to show you that I have use this clutch for a month and carry my cards around. I never have any problem with it from the open end. Just remember to close the leather wrap. If you leave that open, your card will slip out because cards are smallers than your phone, right?
