Pushee Pieces - A compact $9 microgame!
A small, 5-10 minute microgame that's deceptively deep in strategy. Also, monsters.
Pushee Pieces is a fast, 5-10 minute, 2-player microgame with one trick: the pieces push.
Every time a piece is placed, it pushes any other pieces in adjacent tiles. This can cause chain reaction that can greatly change the board each turn. After 15 quick rounds, the players count up the points on the squares their pieces are on, and a winner is declared.
The boards are monster themed too. You know, to spice things up a bit.
Also, before you ask, it's mostly called Pushee Pieces because it's fun to say, and for the most part you can't say it without smiling a little, even if just in your heart.
Be sure to like do all that usual stuff like "like things", "post stuff", and "share joy" at our boardgamegeek.com page, which happens to be right here.
30 pieces - 15 white, 15 blue

1 Rule Sheet (check out the full rules right here)
...all of this will be encased in a wonderful 10" record sleeve! The cover of which will look like this:
The rules are fairly simple and straightforward:
When you put a piece down, depending on which direction it is pointing, it will push any pieces in the adjacent squares one square away from it.
Each player gets 15 pieces to work with. After deciding who goes first, the players take turns putting down their pieces and resolving the pushes and chain reactions that occur. When each player has used all their pieces (after 15 rounds), each player counts up their points depending on which squares their pieces end up on. The player with the highest points is declared the victor! Turn Phases
There are only two phases per turn:
1) Place piece!
2) Resolve pushes!
When a piece is placed, it can make a chain reaction of up to 3 tiers of pushes. After that, no more pushes for that turn.

FREE PNP FILES. Try it yourself:
Download the FREE basic Print N Play files right here. (the files includes the rulebook, but you need to provide the little stick pieces. We suggest you swip a few from a Settlers of Catan game)
Here's a video of a standard game of Pushee Pieces:
We're kind of a small operation here, so we don't have any fancy review videos from people you know and trust. Sorry if that destroys our credibility, but I encourage you to download the PNP (listed above) version and give it a try if you want.
HOWEVER, here are a few reviews from some of the playtesters:
"It's a pretty great little game." - David
"I was able to play it with my kids without problem, too. They loved it, my husband loved it, I loved it." - Kelly
"Really great." - Ari
"Much more strategy than I was expecting. Much deeper than I anticipated." - Lily
"Awesome. Really, really enjoyable." - Steven
"Not into it." - Jeff, who I am not friends with anymore
"Jeff is a dummy. You'll love this game." - every other playtester probably
$2 - Premium PNP files! This will include ALL FOUR boards (the 2 basic ones and the 2 stretch goal ones) even if we don't get the stretch goals for the extra boards in the physical copies.

And that's it. We want to keep this campaign simple.
THERE ARE NO ADD-ONS.
Since it's just two of us putting this all together (read more about that below), we want to keep this campaign simple on our end. If anyone pledges more money than the reward tier they choose, we'll just consider it a wonderful donation to help us out.
$8,000 - LOWERED! We will add TWO new boards to the game, which will look like this:
$15,000 - LOWERED! We'll add pieces and rules for a 3rd player into the mix. The game will now come with an additional 15 red pieces.
$23,000 - LOWERED! We'll add EVEN MORE pieces and rules for a 4th player into the mix. The game will now come with an additional 15 green pieces.
I (Eric Stevenson) thought up of Pushee Pieces and Elizabeth Jancewicz did all the artwork. Together, our day job is as the piano/painting band Pocket Vinyl.
For the past few years we've somehow been able to tour around the states performing in many bars, coffee shops, rock clubs, living rooms, basements, barns, and anywhere else that'll let us play. I slam the piano as hard as I can while Elizabeth paints a painting on stage every night, which gets auctioned off to the highest bidder at the end of each show. This have been our full time job since 2011. We're trying very hard to be a good band.
Give us a shot and listen to some songs on our bandcamp page right here.
If you like those, please like us on facebook.
We tour around the USA for around 100 shows a year. Check our our calender and please come see us if we're near you.
We have dozens of music videos, documentaries, and other stuff on our youtube page.
Elizabeth has taught me (among many other things) that there are so many things we can do ourselves. Before I met her, I had so many of those moments when you're just like “oh man, someone should make that!” She taught me to try to make that someone yourself. I tried to contact game publishers about Pushee Pieces with little luck, and what luck I did find would have had the game wait until late 2015 or even 2016 to get made. I didn't want to wait that long, and after looking into it, I realized that if we ordered all the components for the game and put them together ourselves, we could make it pretty quickly.
Yes, we're putting it all together ourselves and then mailing it to you. It's a very DIY method of making a board game, but it's what we know. And we will do it very well.
Risks and challenges
The biggest risk is simply when the game would be delivered. I've set the date to December just in case, but we're aiming for something closer to September or October. We just want to give ourselves some wiggle room. The day the campaign ends, I'll be putting in the orders for all the different components. Since it'd be bulk orders of everything (especially the stick pieces themselves), we expect it to take around 8 to 10 weeks to get to our house. Assuming that's all on schedule, it's all just a matter of putting everything together, which will certainly take a lot of time. Counting out the pieces, putting everything in the sleeves, writing addresses, etc. We're certainly up to the task, but we're projecting a longer delivery time just in case.
And of course, doing things ourselves may increase a slight chance of a slip up. BUT PLEASE TAKE NOTE, that if your copy has a piece missing, or gets lost in the mail, or something worse, we'll be sure to right that wrong free of charge. Be that sending you a replacement piece, another copy of the game, etc. We'll make sure that every backer gets their full copies safe and sound, whatever it takes.
We've scheduled out the days for putting all these things together, and since we have no 9 to 5 jobs (musicians, remember), we'll be able to focus our full attention on putting the game together once the components arrive.
Don't worry, we're keeping this whole campaign very simple so there'll be little room for fault. Thanks for taking a chance on us.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
