Guinevere Sketch Cover Variant Exceeds Goal in First 24 Hours! White Lily #2 Sketch to Follow
Yesterday, as part of Kickstarter's Make 100 campaign, I launched a campaign for sketch cover variants of Guinevere #1. The campaign succeeded in reaching its goal in the first 24 hours. I had no idea it would be that successful.
I am in the business of giving people what they want. In this case, that means making sketch covers available since that's what people seem to want.
As it turns out, when I was printing White Lily #2 for fulfilling the Kickstarter we did for that issue last April, I printed up 100 sketch cover variants of that issue. I wasn't sure what I would do with them, so they've just been sitting on a shelf. But that's about to change!
Next week, I will launch a campaign for those sketch cover variants of White Lily #2 to find a good home. I will autograph them and number each one. If you are a backer outside the US, and I already owe you a shipment, I will refund any shipping charges if you opt to consolidate your shipments and back this project as well.
The whole model of how creators offer their products through the Kickstarter interface is still in its infancy. We're all just fumbling around in the dark searching for a working model of distribution. So far, I have experienced nothing but success and positive feedback in doing small piecemeal campaigns focused around a specific offering that could be combined if people wanted to back each and every project.
I am going to apply this lesson in future offerings. No doubt, I will start using BackerKit to help me keep track of and fulfill all of these projects.
Take Care Everyone,
