The World's Best SUSTAINABLE BIKE BAGS With 15 Features
We’re excited to announce our newest line, the Belmont Backpack and Mardy Cargo Pannier, our first all-weather, sustainable bags.
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Wed, May 22 2019 6:00 PM UTC +00:00.
At Po Campo, we make the world's most functional and stylish bike bags ever, and we’re excited to announce our newest line, the Belmont Backpack and Mardy Cargo Pannier, our first all-weather, sustainable bags. Since 2009 we’ve manufactured over 100,000 bags for people who live their life by bike all over the world. But we think you (and planet earth) deserve more. So, we’ve set out to create the best waterproof and sustainable bike bags with even more features and versatility.
Repreve® transforms recycled bottles into an amazing fiber, used by the world's leading brands to make athletic and fashion apparel and more. Their process embeds properties like wicking, adaptive warming and cooling, water repellency, and more at the fiber level. For reliable, durable quality.
Although Repreve® is water resistant, we thought why not add additional coverage for the extra heavy downpour with your bag’s own little poncho? The cover is kept in a closed pocket and can be pulled out only when you need it. The cover is sewn in, so you don’t have to worry about it blowing away in tough weather conditions.
We designed our reflective accents with style and safety in mind. On the Belmont and Mardy you’ll notice several locations where we’ve included reflective accents. You can also pull out the attached rain cover for additional safety at night or in busier metro areas.
For additional safety, we’ve added blinking LED zipper pulls that can be turned on at night or on dark stormy days. The Mardy and Belmont bags were built with safety and functionality in mind.
Always on the run and needing to bring your laptop with you? We’ve designed the Mardy and the Belmont both with a padded laptop sleeve. The Mardy comes equipped with a velcro strap to hold the laptop in (up to 13”) whereas the Belmont can hold a 15”.
The exterior pockets were created with active lifestyles in mind. The front zipper pocket is a great space to store easily accessible items like your home or office keys.
Each bag is made of highly-durable Reprieve® material to withstand years of abuse. If your bag doesn't survive normal wear and tear, we’ll give you store credit for a new one. Learn more about our warranty policy here.
The Mardy Cargo Pannier (14”x17.5”x6.5” / 25L), whose name comes from the conservationist Margaret “Mardy” Murie, is Po Campo’s largest bike bag to date. The Mardy attaches to a bike’s rear rack with super-strong Fidlock® magnetic buckles that hold over 80 pounds each and quickly detach to convert to a tote. In addition to this, it has a separate shoe compartment at the bottom (it's cleaner this way), a padded laptop sleeve, three interior elastic/stretch pockets, an exterior pocket for small personal items like your keys, two drink pockets and even a carabiner hook for extra stability during those bumpy rides.
Always on the go? We’ve included a separate shoe compartment so you can bike in what’s comfortable and change into your favorite pair later. The separate compartment helps to keep those dirty shoes away from your other belongings.
Say goodbye to your bag falling off at the worst time. Not only are these magnets quick and easy to use, they also hold up to 80 pounds each.
Everyone has a different carrying preference, and it can depend on the weight of the bag or the occasion. With this in mind, we’ve included two handle straps to be used both by hand or on the shoulder.
The adjustable shoulder strap can be used on one shoulder or extended to reach across the body. Not a shoulder bag fan, you can unhook the strap to remove it entirely.
We’ve added on a carabiner hook for extra stability during those bumpy rides.
Whether it’s tea, coffee or water, while you’re on the go, you need somewhere to hold your favorite reusable canteens. The Mardy comes with two large exterior elastic pockets which make it easy to reach over and grab your favorite items while you’re on the go.
No one wants a bag that reminds them of a black hole. Find your things easily and quickly with three elastic pockets that can stretch to fit some of your favorite snacks, chargers, or wallet.
The Belmont Backpack (11.5”x18”x5.5” / 18.6L) is a slim backpack designed to be worn while biking. It has a hidden easy access pocket for your phone, a front pocket for your keys, two open interior elastic/stretch pockets for your personal items, two exterior temperature controlled pockets made from Neoprene, and additional breathable padding. All making this the perfect bag for work commutes, a quick overnight trip or for school, rain or shine.
The Belmont comes with two exterior drink pockets that use insulating neoprene to keep your hot drinks hot and your cold drinks cold.. There’s nothing like getting to your destination and being able to take a big sip of water that’s still at your favorite temperature.
One of our favorite features of the Belmont is this hidden and padded phone pocket. We know how important easy access to your phone while on the go, and we wanted to make sure that you could grab it without needing to remove your straps or use both hands.
Weighing in at just under a pound, the Belmont was created to be light as a feather.
The Belmont comes with two interior elastic pockets to hold your laptop chargers, phone, chargers, wallet or favorite snacks.
In May 2013, Po Campo partnered with World Bicycle Relief, a Chicago nonprofit that supplies new bikes into programs for rural African communities, giving them access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities. Every time we sell 50 bags, a girl in Africa receives a bike to help her get to school. To date, we’ve provided 158 bikes.
The Bike to Work Starter Pack comes with:
- Limited Edition organic cotton & bamboo Bike & Be Free Tee in your choice of crew neck (sizes S-2XL) or scoop neck (sizes XS-2XL)
- Banana saver for refueling after your ride
- 2-pack of reflector pins for extra visibility at night.
We designed our bags to be able to take some abuse! Just apply a dab of dish soap onto the stain and gently rub it with a damp towel or old toothbrush. You can also use a damp Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or a little bit of Oxyclean. All of our fabrics are nonabsorbent so with a little diligence, it should come clean. If you have any problems, feel free to contact us here.

Risks and challenges
We’ve been in the bike bag business since 2009. Our team has extensive experience in design and manufacturing. In fact, to date, we’ve fulfilled over 100,000 orders. We have our manufacturers lined up, and our production team is waiting for the green light to get started.
Part of running a business is knowing how to roll with the punches. We’ve dealt with our fair share of them and we know how to bob and weave.
We assure you that we will do everything in our power to make sure we stay on time and exceed your expectations because if it wasn’t for you, this wouldn’t be a reality.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
