ASSAULT ON FORTRESS MOON is a strategic war game that features plastics miniatures that are great to look as they are to play with. The rules are kept simple and fun with plenty of player aids to keep everyone on track, but at the same time Veteran gamers won't feel slighted by the simplicity of the rules. We've tried very hard to reach that fine balance that will provided gamers of all backgrounds a war game they can truly enjoy!
In ASSAULT ON FORTRESS MOON, players choose to either take control the EARTH FORCES (Republic of China, USA, or USSR,) who's objective is to collectively reclaim 16 or more of the 30 Mine-bases; or players can control the LUNAR COLONISTS, who's objective is to hold at least 15 of the 30 Mine-bases.
At the start of the game the Lunar Colonists control all 30 of the Mine-bases and set up their units within those Zones.
The Earth Forces begin each turn in one of their respective Landing Zones, pushing forward through Phases each Turn to capture Mine-bases.
The Game is played through 6 Turns which are broken down into 5 Phases.
- Resource (the build phase, drawing cards, spending points)
- 1st Movement (setting up the attack)
- Combat (attacking/ rolling dice)
- 2nd Movement (capturing Mine-bases or re-positioning)
- Victory (determining Mine-bases captured and units lost)
ASSAULT ON FORTRESS MOON has 2 sets of Game Cards. One deck for the Earth Forces and another deck for the Lunar Colonists.
Each Card is marked with a light that determines on which Phase the card can be played.
- Blue for Resource
- Green for Movement
- Red for Combat
- Yellow for Any Phase
Cards add a random element to the war and the strategy of winning as well as help make the game a different experience each time.
Instead of keeping a supply line open, the Earth Forces must keep a Supply Unit with them to keep their units alive on the Moon's surface when not in a Mine-base. These Supply Units can supply up to 6 Units in the zone or an adjacent zone (not including the Supply Unit which is self-sufficient.) The strategy here is that the Lunar Colonists could use a card like "Target Supply" and destroy a Supply Unit and in turn eliminate other Units.
Winning the Game:
ASSAULT ON FORTRESS MOON is a race against time! With the Lunar Colonists in control of the Mine-bases Earth's resources are low.
As the 4th Turn comes around Resources Points for the Earth Forces begins to deplete and the Lunar Colonists begin to "rev up" their production of Units.
As stated previously the Earth Forces must collectively capture and hold at least 16 or more Mine-bases, while the Lunar Colonists have to hold at least 15 Mine-bases.
ASSAULT ON FORTRESS MOON is a strategic war game set in the 1950's. As we designed the units for the game we took great care to try and bring that retro vibe to life. Below are the 10 different types of miniatures that come with the game.
ASSAULT ON FORTRESS MOON is set in a alternate universe where WWII lasted well into the 50's. Earth's resources we're devastated, but technology brought about through the war enable humanity to reach the Moon where they discovered Element X, which when refined provides ample energy. Mining on the Moon was rough work for the men and women there. Fatalities were high and the Miners wanted better living standards, but were refused. They soon formed a faction calling themselves the Lunar Colonists and drove off anyone that stood against them.
With Earth's new energy source under an embargo, the greatest nations of the time formed an alliance in a last ditch effort to take back their mine-bases against the rebel miners now calling themselves the Lunar Colonists.
This is where the game begins. The Lunar Colonists, owning all 30 of the Mine-bases, have converted mining equipment and even robots to help in their fight.
The Earth Forces, comprising of the United States, USSR, and Republic of China, have landed troops on the Moon to reclaim the bases, but with resources low they have only 6 Turns in which to complete their mission.
If they can reclaim at least 16 of the 30 Mine-bases the Lunar Colonists must forfeit their hold on the Moon, but if they don't succeed then Earth must recognize the Moon and the Colonists as a free State.

Alan & Thorin Thompson
For almost three years this Father/Son Team have been developing ASSAULT ON FORTRESS MOON. Gamers themselves, they've designed the game from the ground up. It's been a fun challenge for the two and this is just the beginning!
However, they couldn't have gotten very far without the amazing artists featured below:
Concept & Design:
Jordyn Boci (Concept Artist) when not drawing up concepts for the game she's usually sculpting monsters at the Creature Revenge Studio in NC. Jordyn drew up the original designs for all the miniatures in the game.
Buzz Setzer (Artist/ Colorist) started his career in Comics in the early 90's working for DC Comics as a Colorist on a variety of titles including Catwoman, Hawkman, & Green Arrow.
Darryl Banks (Artist) began his career in comics around 1989 and has worked on titles such as Doc Savage, The Wild Wild West, and Justice Machine. In '93 he started working with DC Comics on Green Lantern co-creating the Kyle Rayner Green Lantern, Parallax, and other characters. Other works include Captain America and X-Men for Marvel.
Charles Barnett III (Artist/ Inker) has worked for DC and Marvel on titles such as Star Trek, Thor, The Avengers, & Teen Titans! He has consistently worked in comics since his debut with Marvel in '91.
Adam Montogomery (3D Artist) specializes in a large array of digital media and design. He's worked with clients such as Comedy Central, VISA, and Microsoft. If you like his work with our Miniatures Units then check out his website: www.adamjamesmontgomery.com

Risks and challenges
Much like our alternate history, resources are low, which is the whole reason we came to Kickstarter in the first place. With your help we can make this dream a reality!
The game is 80% finished, so we are well on our way to completion. Our artists are currently working on artwork once funding is reached will complete the rest of the art under development. Even if there are delays (shipping hiccups, are beyond our control, for example), the product wouldn't be delayed for long if something goes wrong.
My Father and I have both spend a solid 3 years on this project. Developing and playtesting it with many different groups of people. We have everything from manufacturing to shipping in place and are only awaiting the funding from this campaign.
We thank you for your support!
