Frequently Asked Questions
No, the backpack will be delivered without a power bank.
However, we designed a pocket which is specifically made to contain your power bank. Also, there is a simple connection inside the backpack that makes sure that you can easily connect all power banks that are on the market (by USB plug).Last updated:
There are lots of people willing to get a backpack and just don’t think how to connect a Powerbank and at the same time have an opportunity to charge the device along the way.
That’s why we add such removable cable to the complete set. It can be connected with your USB-C cable or, if there is no need for it, just simply removed.Last updated:

The weight of the empty backpack is 1500 gr. Like any other tech backpack, Pleatpack isn’t the most lightweight bag. But we believe that safe-keeping and integrity of your expensive items definitely worth to carry 100-400 grams more.Last updated:
Our priority goal is to make the backpack as good as it’s possible.
The inbuilt lock — is an additional and quite expensive accessory to the backpack, but not its main part.
Having studied the experience of many company founders on Kickstarter, we found out that many of them made a big mistake — started offering lots of add-ons, and that led to manufacturing complications. As a result, many of the companies failed to meet the challenges and backers were left with poor quality products or with nothing at all. We don't want to make the same mistake.
We’ll try to do our best, so every backer could get it for free. But if we fail to show the campaign to enough people this proposal can be the solution. During the campaign, we’ll keep you informed about this question.Last updated:
The shipping cost will be charged off when your Pleatpack is ready to be shipped to you. When we know exactly where you want us to deliver your Pleatpack as well as the final weight of the package, we'll be able to calculate the actual cost of the shipment. This guarantees that you won't pay more than the delivery into your country really costs.
Estimated shipping date is at the beginning of December this year. A month before it, we'll start using a pledge manager (BackerKit, or CrowdOx, or PledgeManager) to collect shipping costs. You will be able to use your credit card or PayPal to pay for the shipment.
So you don't need to add shipping cost into your pledge.
Shipping will cost (roughly):
US, Canada, Europa: $29.
Latin America: $40.
Rest of World: $40.
Keep in mind these are just estimates, and costs may rise based on weight increases from unlocked stretch goals and any optional buys you choose.
We realize, that paying a third of a price, or even more for the delivery is quite frustrating. So we promise, that we’ll do our best to reduce the shipping price. Also, you have our word, that we won’t ask a penny more, than the real delivery price.Last updated:
Yes, all backers will receive a personal tracking number with which they can trace their shipment.Last updated:
At the end of the project, we will send out a survey to all our backers. In this survey, we will collect all needed data such as your delivery address.
We will also send out a mail to all backers right before we will send out all the packages to make sure this delivery address is still up to date.Last updated:
As a tech backpack, Pleatpack has built-in paddings all around the laptop compartment to protect your expensive items from damage. Also, there's a built-in plastic panel into the front panel. This allows the bag always looks flat and beauty. At the same time, these features do not allow to wash the bag in a washing machine. The main fabric can be cleaned in the same way as all other bags on the market - by water and rubbing.Last updated:
For the backpack exterior, we use a water repellent Oxford fabric. The main reason for this decision was that other fabrics (For instance Cordura) had problems with bending at pleats. And the Oxford fabric is very cross-functional and it perfectly fulfills all the necessary tasks. Thanks to its qualities, the fabric is widely used in the production of various goods. Who knows, maybe your favorite shirt or hiking backpack is made of Oxford as well. At the same time, there are lots of types of this fabric. For example, different fiber materials and the composition these materials have been impregnated allow giving the fabric various qualities in order to make it suitable for specific purposes. Before-mentioned Oxford fabric can be thin and light for T-shirts tailoring, as well as dense with cut-proof qualities for bags.
We use Oxford at 600D with PVC impregnation as the main fabric. At the beginning we tried a fabric with PU cover — it’s lighter, yes, but the waterproof qualities were unsatisfactory. That’s exactly why we will use the PVC cover.
For the interior, we use Oxford as well, but with thinner fibre, more exactly with 210D.
By the way, the fabric we’ve chosen is one of the main reasons why Pleatpack isn’t that lightweight.
We decided to choose polyamide straps. Our production partner uses these straps only. And we personally use the Pleatpack prototypes for about 9 months — these materials have proven to be effective on the daily basis.Last updated:

Due to the nature of Kickstarter as a crowdfunding platform, we cannot offer refunds to backers once the project ends. In the Kickstarter community, the items that you receive after making a pledge are referred to as "rewards" because they are not purchases in the traditional sense.
Once the campaign ends, your pledges are immediately turned into a hard production order, this because we do not want to let anybody down on the delivery time. Therefore we cannot offer refunds once the campaign has ended.
However, if you experience any quality problems, we are here to help in multiple ways! You can send us a mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or send us a private message here on Kickstarter. We will be here to help solve your problem!Last updated:
All our backers are the people who help us to turn Pleatpack into reality. Without your support, we won’t be able to succeed with Pleatpack and all our future projects. To thank you for this immense help we decided not only to send you the rewards but to add your name to our website. When the campaign is over, we’ll send a survey to all backers. You’ll be able to specify if you want your name to be published on our website or not.
Our history starts with you, and if you wish, you will always be at the core of our business.Last updated:
