In Snowblind: Race for the Pole, you will lead a team of polar explorers in a desperate race to reach the South Pole and return alive.
Each turn you will need to carefully consider your supply chain of crates and food, and the protection of your team against the arctic elements.
Too much caution and you will never reach your goal before the dreaded pack ice returns.
How to Play
Gameplay is deceptively simple, yet deeply emergent and as brutal as the chilling environment itself.
On their turn, a player may either take a risk dice from the action board. or pass. Actions involve moving crates with explorers, hunting for food and building camps for protection from the elements.
After completing an action, a player then rolls all the risk dice they have accumulated for the round. High numbers may result in Exposure - paid with the loss of crates, the exhaustion of explorers, and sometimes even icy death. Exposure is offset by the building of Camps and keeping warm Company ( 2 or more explorers in the same zone.)
When all players pass, the round ends. A Weather card is drawn and each players suffers the Exposure result shown on the card, in their furthest occupied zone from base camp.
When the Pack Ice card is drawn from the Weather card deck, the game ends immediately and final score is tallied.

Gameplay overview and playthrough
Gareth H. Graham from Frenzykitty and Rob van Zyl go head to head, in a game of Snowblind: Race for the Pole (1.3):
Pleasant Company Games is an independent game company. Our games are hand-made over the course of several years and when they are suitably marinated, we present them to the general public.
Kickstarter is our first point of contact for public interest and communication with the core user base, and your support helps some of the way in the manufacturing expense required to make a viable print run of a product. By the response and success we have here, we are best able to gauge and scale the production and the details of the product, accordingly.
Beyond the initial funding target, additional funding will allow us to add the extra "bells and whistles" to the game, which have been shelved until sufficient interest has been created in the project to have them included.
By showing your commitment and early pledge to the campaign, we can begin to unlock this extra content and component upgrades to the game in the form of funding campaign "stretch goals".
Tell your friends and spread the word! Here are the stretch goals unlocked to far:

Risks and challenges
Every project could potentially encounter unexpected obstacles. This is our third Kickstarter project and we have every confidence that we can deliver a great result and within the time estimate. We firmly believe that a project should not be presented on the platform until it is 90% complete from a pre-production perspective, with game-play and artwork requiring only final input and customization via stretch goals.
Our printers are lined up to receive the finished files within three weeks of the close of the campaign, as are our shippers and logistical support.
