Tales of the cursed pyramid and the sleeping tomb of the Mummy Bride have long been a traveler’s tale, passed along by wayward explorers and greedy plunderers alike. Deep within the verdant jungles of the south, amidst a Green Hell of impenetrable jungle, savage cannibals and ancient myth, lies the shattered remnants of a once-powerful civilization and the terrible gods who ruled over them. Rumors swirl of untold riches and un-plundered magic for those brave (or foolish!) enough to claim it. Will your players survive… and what will be left of them?
The Jungle Tomb of the Mummy Bride is an old school, grindhouse-style combination of classic role playing adventure and devilishly-designed dungeons cram-packed with b-movie goodness to challenge even the most seasoned of adventurers. It’s a module that could only have been made in the primitive jungles of man… where life is cheap!
Jungle Tomb of the Mummy Bride is designed for a group of player characters who are levels 5-7, but is easily scalable for higher level challenges. If slappin’ down old school monsters, climbing through ancient, forgotten places and seeing what lies beyond the secret door behind the glowing altar is your kind of thing, then you’re in the right place. We’re excited to take you back to a time when the simplest things in life were worrying about making your saving throw against a death ray, avoiding falling in that 50’ pit or killing some slobbering, evil monster before you plundered all of its sweet, sweet loot. In the end, we wanted to write the kind of stuff that we would want to play ourselves. After all, who wants to spend a night of gaming if you’re not having fun?
The design team at Planet X Games is a new venture, but full of published, talented artists and hardcore role playing gamers excited to bring you a unique role playing experience unlike any other. With fully realized, professional-level art and maps, deadly new monsters, fresh new magical items and fully expanded locations in and around the Mummy Bride’s tomb, get ready to set your players on course for a head on collision with a murderous Mayan mummy mama hell bent on terrorizing your players in a roaring rampage of ritualistic revenge!
So what’s so special about this module and what makes it different? What exactly is the Grindhouse-Style?
Any devoted movie fan can tell you that a “grindhouse" was an American term for a movie theater that mainly showed exploitation and genre films, with cut-rate ticket prices and often questionable atmosphere.
We’re bringing that atmosphere, old school style and all the b-movie, exploitation fun that comes with it to the gaming table. Our grindhouse adventures are quick and dirty, with an emphasis on fun and playability, but still dangerous enough to keep your players wondering if they really want to head back into that dungeon. We’re combining that with top shelf art, slick maps and explosive encounters to give you and your players something to chew on and talk about over the gaming table for years to come.
Jungle Tomb of the Mummy Bride features art and full-scale maps by many talented artists, including Adrian Landeros, Karl Stjernberg, Lawrence Hernandez and John Russell.
Here’s a small peek at the sort of crunchy goodness you can find between its covers:
· Full details on all three levels of the Jungle Tomb of the Mummy Bride, complete with fully realized stats and detailed encounter areas. It’s our guarantee - if this module doesn’t make your flesh creep, it’s on too tight!
· The horrific village of Pikaal, home to the savage cannibal folk descended from the pyramid’s original inhabitants. Fully realized and detailed, complete with fleshed out adversaries, locations and village trappings!
· FOUR additional “satellite” temples.
· Deadly encounter areas, fully fleshed out and ready to play. Dare you tempt the all-seeing eye and malevolent will of the Hateful Fates? Can you survive a run in with the demon-tainted horrors of the hive, much less the taste of their strange devil honey? Will you tip back some juuka to find the answers to life’s mysteries in the strange grotto of the mushroom men?
· More than a dozen brand new magical items never seen anywhere before, including the Head-Hunter’s Belt, Cannibal Jar, Blood Mud and the Five-Demon Bag!
· Introducing the Trope Mechanic! Part of what makes all Planet X modules feel unique is the atmosphere and setting, and tropes go a long way towards giving Jungle Tomb of the Mummy Bride that “Grindhouse” flavor.

Risks and challenges
This project is 100% written and edited. Both cover and interior art is turned in, along with all maps (even the ones for the potential stretch goal reward).
The interior layout and graphic design is all that remains to be done on the physical copies before printing. Our graphic designer is in the process of doing that now. We are waiting on the project to be funded before we compile the final PDFs , so they have not been hosted as of this writing.
As with any crowdfunding program, the time between payment and delivery of the final product is subject to various risks, including the failure of the supplier, damage in shipment, disruptions within a company, as well as changes in the prices of materials and shipping.
We are ready to get this project moving and get it into your hands as soon as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
