Class Vote Winners!

Here's the moment you've all been waiting for... We've tallied the votes (from Kickstarter and Paypal backers $25 and up) and have the results for the three classes that will appear in the base game (out of 6 choices). Each voter was able to submit 3 votes (which could be the same or different classes). So without further ado...

The winners are:

  • 1. Assassin
  • 2. Elementalist
  • 3. Beastkeeper

For details on these classes, please see our previous update here:

So there you have it! We're pretty happy with the results, although we were secretly hoping for the Bard to get in. As we've mentioned previously, the non-winning classes may be developed at some point in the future as an expansion or DLC... but we'll have to wait until after the game is released and just see how things pan out. Maybe someday!

That's it for this time. Look forward to the next update in about 2 weeks!

P.S. Apologies for the poor audio quality on the livestream. We actually found a weird setting in our software that was apparently causing the echo, so that's fixed now. We'll keep you posted on when the next one will occur (about a month from now)!

Snap, 2/3 here also. Bard! Music would have been a great twist on combat. Still I think Pixelscopic can work their magic on the elementalist (pun intended).

    4. Rocky Huang on May 11, 2013

Pfft assassin. Bard and Beastkeeper sound like much more interesting classes to play IMHO.

    5. mrwisker on May 11, 2013

what tiwst brad lost did not see that coming atlest Elementalist made it sadly thought bard going be in for sur but he is not aslo templar but hey may come out dlc or were game is done may never know

    6. Edd Norris on May 10, 2013

Pretty sad about the bard losing as well :P I was hoping for some flashbacks of Ragnarok Online! :D
That said, the Elementalist and the Beast keeper still sound pretty boss, can't be mad when 2 out of 3 of my votes made the cut :)
      Can't wait to play! :)

    7. Andrew Otis on May 10, 2013

I was really surprised to see the assassin there as invisibility is somewhat useless in certain games. We'll see if it turns out to be good! I'm sad about the templar though. Glad the Beastkeeper could make it at least c:

    9. Pixelscopic Creator on May 10, 2013

@all - the Closed Alpha will be at the end of June, and Closed Beta will occur in August. Open Beta will be in September.

      I'll miss you, templar.

Welp, win some lose some. I'm sure all three classes will be great! I do hope I'll be able to play a templar SOMEDAY. :D

    12. Ed130 The Vanguard on May 9, 2013

      No Templar, DAMMIT!

Any chance the others will be added in at a later date?

And I didn't vote all my 3 votes at bard because I though he would win :(. Number 2 and 3 is nice I wanted them really bad as well.

    14. Jonathan Barrett on May 9, 2013

I too was hoping for the Bard too, as he sounded the most different of the bunch, but oh well... It'll still be a blast!

    15. Onery on May 9, 2013

2 out of 3 ain't bad here. Pity about the templar... actually it's cruel to put these characters up to us knowing only half will be in the game. Cruel I say! :p

    16. Christopher Campbell on May 9, 2013

Sweet, got the two I was hoping for. Still, they all sound awesome, so if/when they release it I'd buy 'em. Elementalist and Assassin FTW!!

    17. Kevin Griffin on May 9, 2013

I wasn't a $25 tier, so I didn't get to vote, but if I could, I was going to put all three votes for the Huntsman. :D I thought his weapons and skills sounded super awesome. And he narrowly missed it in fourth place, darn it!

But, all these classes look amazing, and just the fact that we'll have 6 instead of 3 is outstanding already! I know the game will be fantastic, and if these last 3 classes get added in the future, that'll just be even better! Great choices guys!

    18. Samael the Butterdragon on May 9, 2013

Ah, darn, was hoping for the bard's unique take on combat as well x3 Still, 2 out of 3 picks ain't bad!

Damn i really wanted to play the bard.

    20. Christopher Guest on May 9, 2013

The alpha should be out sometime around late June, if I remember right. I don't know about the Beta, probably a month or two after the Alpha though. The game itself's releasing in October, so I guess somewhere in August would make sense for the Beta.

    21. finallyanime on May 9, 2013

      Oh, when's the beta dropping?

    22. finallyanime on May 9, 2013

Delvers is cooler :) and yeah I was sad about the hard :( I thought the thief and assassin look/seem similar already

      Twice or thrice rather.

    25. TheChosenOne on May 9, 2013

Well Assassin is something that a lot of people know and just flock (?) to quickly. But lets hope for future DLC.

Awww man! I was really hoping for the bard as well. (Woulda voted for that bad boy twice or thrive had I had the option!)

Either way though good stuff, and if you ever get around to that bard DLC I will be all over it!

Awesome choices. I personally put all 3 votes towards bard, but I liked all 6 choices anyways so I'm happy. Would be nice to get the other classes down the line as paid DLC (chance to support you guys again, plus add more variety).

    28. Cole Robotshenanigans

I would have voted Bard, Templar, Assassin... in that order. It looks like I'm in the minority though.

    31. Koshinator on May 9, 2013

Noooooo! My Huntsman only just missed out... :(

      Ahh well, still interesting picks

    32. Pixelscopic Creator on May 9, 2013

We would have said "Delvers," but "Droppers" works if that's what you prefer ;)

If the game does well on steam, do you anticipate maybe adding the other classes later, say as DLC? Just wonderin...two out of my 3 picks made it, so I'm happy!

    34. Robert B. Healy III on May 9, 2013

WOOHOO! Elementalist got in. I am a happy Dropper. That's what we're called right? Delver's Drop fans? Droppers? Well, whatever, I'm calling it that, and I am happy~ <3
