Shady Mechanic (Canceled)
An open world sandbox game which combines elements of mechanic simulation, driving, role playing, and business management.
Shady Mechanic is an open world sandbox game which combines elements of mechanic simulation, driving, role playing, and business management. In the rundown city of Camden, NJ you begin working as a mechanic at Jimmy Junk's Auto Repair where you learn the ins and outs of being a dishonest mechanic.
Deep customization and building- Vehicles can be completely dismantled and rebuilt from the ground up. The ability to mix and match parts, swap engines, bodies, frames, and generally bend the rules is paramount to Shady Mechanic. Disassembling and building is meant to be intuitive for someone with even little to no experience in mechanics. The gameplay does not strive to be a bolt-turning simulator and instead puts an emphasis on creativity, efficiency, and problem solving.
The City- Explore a city which is constantly changing. Every day things get moved around, new vehicles show up, random events happen, and new opportunities arise. Plan your strategy around the city's day and night cycle.
Get Creative- Play however you want. There are many ways to succeed other than being a shady mechanic. Build and sell cars, take a risk with metal thievery, stealing cars or car parts, or do random jobs throughout the city. You can even try being an honest mechanic but it won't be easy.
Mission Variety- Shady Mechanic isn't just about fixing cars. Many missions require driving, racing, stealing, and other tasks. Many missions require using your customers' vehicles.
Interactive NPCs- You're not the only one in the city. The city has police, store owners, car owners, and Jimmy Junks himself. You'll maintain a karma system with many of the NPCs. If you rip off customers too many times or do too much unnecessary work you will lose business.
Police- The more crime you commit in an area, the stronger the police presence will become. Getting caught can cost you a lot of money. Taking on too many jobs at once is a good way to make a lot of money, but can net you some parking tickets if you have too many vehicles parked outside.
Workshop- Upgrade your tools and workshop as you earn money. Tools that make your job easier or tools that make crime easier.
Depending on how you look at it, Jimmy Junks is either the most important or least important NPC in Shady Mechanic. Jimmy has been in the auto repair business for a long time. Despite his crooked business dealings, he is somehow able to keep customers coming back.
Emeralda operates the local auto parts store. She will email you about new sales and will give you cash for recyclable auto parts such as batteries, alternators, and brake shoes.
Boris is a used car salesman at Auto Junktion. All vehicles at Auto Junktion come with a full no money back guarantee.
Johnny Junks operates the local recycling plant. As long as what you bring in is made out of metal, Johnny doesn't ask questions about where you got it.
Officer Ramirez usually works during the day. Ramirez has a different style of patrol and generally won't give you parking tickets when you have too many cars parked outside your shop.
Ovcharka doesn't cut anyone any slack. Screwing up too many times around Ovcharka can easily put your profit margin into the negative.

PixelMayhem is a small group of developers who work full time in game development, game asset creation, and quality assurance testing. Some of us have 10+ years experience in programming development. Shady Mechanic is a game we've been making in our free time. At PixelMayhem we encourage feedback and ideas from our fans and supporters. We also believe negative feedback is a useful tool to help make a better product.
We're a small game studio. We work full time, mostly doing freelance work, and working on games like Shady Mechanic in our free time. We considered developing Shady Mechanic completely on our own, however it would take much longer and the final product would likely not be as ambitious or have as many features as we wanted. We would love to go crazy with this game, and we will if there is enough interest from the public.
