The above image is a 'shop. But it was done just to get a point across. As Bad Dudes 2 is being called the "16-bit sequel the series should of recieved", we've decided to embrace that with our new reward tier!
The 16-bit retro edition ships in special retro packaging, includes a USB retro SNES style gamepad, and ships with a unique empty SNES cartridge prop, that will feature a Bad Dudes 2 label. Throw it on your shelf for the ultimate Bad Dudes fans collector's piece. These will only be done for this kickstarter campaign!
UPDATE: Rough gameplay video coming soon!
The DragonNinja clan is up to their old tricks. It's been 23 years since Blade and Striker foiled their operation and brought the President home for some hamburgers, and now they're back for revenge!
It's time to show you've still got the stuff after all these years. Time to come out of retirement, to show you are still bad enough dudes to rescue the president.
Bad Dudes is the greatest story ever told. In 1988 Bad Dudes was released upon the world, and players were introduced to the DragonNinja clan, the baddest, roughest, ninjaest enemies to ever kidnap the president.
The CIA, with nowhere else to turn, traveled to New York City and enlisted the help of Blade and Striker, two local dudes, who were very bad themselves.
These dudes...these bad dudes, as it were, traveled the world knuckle busting ninja faces, through the cities, on the top of speeding trains, trucks, through jungles, sewers, and mystical caverns. And in the final moment, fought the head ninja on the side of a helicopter, proving once and for all, who was really bad.
The president was safe, they ate burgers, and the rest is history.
Bad Dudes 2 is the sequel that nobody knew they wanted, until now!
Bad Dudes 2 pushes the intricate plot and extensive character development even further. The DragonNinja are back, they've kidnapped the president again, and it's time for Blade and Striker to come out of retirement, get back in shape, and get bad!
Pinstripe Games understands the appeal of Bad Dudes. We understand that the game and it's story have reached cult status for a reason, and we plan on embracing that. Bad Dudes 2 will be just as ridiculous, but with the modern conventions and modern mentality to make that ridiculousness even more over the top, and the action as outrageous as possible.
When Blade and Striker come out of retirement, we want them to do it in style. The Bad Dudes will still travel through a series of environments that have no chronological reasoning to them at all, in a 100% seemingly random fashion. They will still be fighting ninjas left and right, and they will still be tough, gruff, face smashing machines. Still wielding an array of different ninja weapons, they will fight on the top of several speeding somethings, cars, trucks, trains, planes, whatever!
Bad Dudes 2 will feature full co-op from start to finish, a slew of co-op and single player challenges outside of the campaign, online play and leaderboards. Bad Dudes 2 will feature over the top, outrageous action, and an award winning story to touch your heart.
Video games, even small ones, can be very expensive to produce. There are licensing fees, software and hardware purchases, and the biggest expense, labor.
We want Bad Dudes 2 to be a game that people will want to play and laugh with their friends about over and over, and for that to happen it needs to be a great game. This is a project we want to get 100% behind and dedicate our full-time attention to.
That dedication entails paying our employees wages, among other expenses, which is why we have chosen Kickstarter as our funding venue. Bad Dudes 2 isn't something big publishers want to get behind, but we know that the fanbase is there. We figure why not show you what we want to do, show you we have the team to do it, and work with you to secure the funding for it. This enables you to be involved in the development of the game from day one.
Who are you kidding? You know you want it. Subconsciously, you've wanted it for years. Funding Bad Dudes 2 helps get this game into people's hands. It helps the gamers of the world get another over the top action game to play with their friends, one with a self-aware sense of humor that will give them something to laugh about as they play.
It's nostalgia, it's timeless video game action, and it's all wrapped up in a comedic package.
We get Bad Dudes, we've been fans since childhood. We've been wondering for years when it would get a revival, and we finally decided that we were the perfect people to do it. Bad Dudes deserves a revival by the people who understand it best. People just like you and I, who get the jokes, who get the ridiculousness, and want to deliver exactly that.
Yes! As mentioned in the video, part of the Kickstarter-raised funds will go to covering the licensing costs. This is very much an official sequel.
We had a backer suggest a great idea for a pledge reward. There were already backers for the tier we wanted to add it to, so we were unable to edit it. We simply added a reward tier at the same price. No matter which $30 tier you pledge to, you'll receive both rewards.
The art you saw was some very early concept art and is not how the final game will look at all. We've since made sure to update all relevant media with more polished concept art that more accurately represents how the finial game will look. If you have any questions or concerns, by all means, contact us and we'd be happy to address them.
