I spent my study years and the first 6 years of my work life living in different parts of the world, most of the time relocating from one country to another.
I experienced what it means to feel lonely while travelling and how difficult it can be for a woman to be abroad alone. I've been working hard with my team to bring to life a new way of connecting women on the move and the solution is called Pinktrotters.

Women are becoming more and more financially and intellectually independent. They spend more on experiences and travel than ever before.
Solo women travellers are increasing +30% year over year. Nevertheless, travelling alone can still be perceived as dangerous and boring for the majority of them. Often, when we travelled alone for personal or for work reasons, we found ourselves into mundane or risky situations.
Moreover, women have to generally cope with more stressful situations than men do: Work, Career, Family and can become difficult to manage together and sometimes women need a moment to themselves, often to be shared with like-minded lifestyle women.
We wanted to create a fun and entertaining way for women to get together and enjoy their time out of the office wherever they are, sharing their passions in fashion, wellness, food and arts!
We are a team of 10 passionate women, between the ages of 27 and 35, coming from different backgrounds and different parts of Europe, who want to build a strong, international social network for women on the move just like us!
Our experiences range from digital marketing, business development, sales, and brand marketing to mobile and web development.
What we achieved so far:
Since we embarked on this project, we have achieved a steady and promising growth that has helped us achieve the following results:
- 200.000 subscribed users
- 250 events & trips planned
- more than 100 Ambassadors in fashion, wellness, food & arts
- presence in more than 20 cities (mainly European)
- strategic lifestyle partnerships with Secret Escapes, Glamour, Elle, Chic Outlets
- strategic brand partnerships with Audi, Ford, Longines, L'Oreal, Samsung, Hyundai, Lierac, Nike
- we are a SEIS compliant UK based company
..and this is just the beginning!
Although our site is mobile responsive, we want to take the experience a step further and create native apps.
The money we raise will be used to deliver two versions of the mobile app: a free one and a VIP one that will allow our Pinktrotters’ members to:
- use the power of geo-location to find Pinktrotters approved (i.e. tried and tested) locations nearby
- discover places suggested by a trusted community and access tips on beauty, fashion, arts, food and hospitality
- receive personalised tips & offers while on the go (e.g. personalised coupons)

Risks and challenges
Starting a new business from scratch is always challenging. You face constant ups and downs and the financial constraints are hard to cope with.
There are many social network out there, but a truly female-only one that connects women on the move anywhere they are, is not out yet and we are very keen to make it a reality. We’ve got the right expertise we need to make it succeed and you can help us make it a reality!
The risk we are currently facing is primarily related to having the team located between London and Milan which is sometimes not ideal when having to deliver under deadline.
We are working in parallel on other projects that help us generate revenues - like securing strategic brand and lifestyle partnerships. This double focus on the product development, user growth and generating revenues is sometimes challenging.
