Pilgrim Footwear Company was founded by two friends Arfu and Aji Agung after doing research and development since early 2014. Travelling to many cities known for their expertise in footwear industry, we see first hand the potential of Indonesian material producers, Tanneries and craftmanship necessary to make quality footwear. We later set up a small and humble workshop in 2015 and gathering local talents that have been working in Industry for years.

We want to make boots that is comfort straight from out of the box, and will conform to your feet along with the usage. We use Leather and foam footbed plus arch support to reduce fatigue, and vegetable tanned insole & midsole that will conform to your feet as you walk by miles.
Handsewn Goodyear welt / Hand welt method is one of the best method to attached shoe upper with the soles. Its all leather structure creates a stronger and more reliable bond. This kind of method is only applied on high-end or bespoke footwear. Besides it’s durability and strength, this construction allow you to easily resole the rubber outsole when it’s worn out (would take many years). We use two kind of welt for this release, the flat one for sleeker looks and storm welt one for more waterproofing.
Our sizing is in D width. The most common width. The boots run true to size,
If you have any questions about sizing, please send us message. We will help you with sizing.
If this project get funded, we can improve our production system, purchasing more tools and machinery to complete our workshop, developing and sourcing more quality materials, so we would be able to craft more fine boots at higher quality than we can at the moment.

Risks and challenges
The risks we are concern about are producing boots below our standard of quality, and late in project / reward delivery. To avoid these we have to make some adjustment in production line and pre-production activities.
Our suppliers and our workshop are ready to go. We have discuss and prepare everything in details to make this project comes to life, From materials availability to product standards.
And to better schedule our delivery, we limit the number of boots for each month of delivery. Our first delivery is planned on April, where we will send the first 150 pairs and each following month will also be limited to keep the standards of quality.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
