Hey Friends, we’re excited to announce the coming release of our new album! On June 2nd 2017 Stripped Down Gussied Up will hit the stands and stores and digital retailers across the world, and we need your help to get the word out.
We’ve been concentrating on the traveling and recording and we need your help with the advertising and marketing. We’ve got big plans for this album, including releasing it in Ireland, and the UK! In order to do that we will need money to hire two publicity agents (one for the US and one for the UK), cash for submissions for magazine reviews, print ads, international shipping, postage, and mailers. We also need the funds for making promotional materials like posters, flyers, bios, and filming music videos.
As a result, we’ve decided to use this Kickstarter as a presale platform. So…you can purchase the new album in whichever format you prefer, whether that be digital, CD, or Vinyl, and we’ll use that money to fund the marketing for the release!
We’ve also been fortunate enough to travel around and play a few house concerts across the southeast, and we’ve really enjoyed the intimate atmosphere that kind of show creates. So, if you have the space for it we’d love to come and occupy your porch or living room, garage, wood shed, or tent in the yard! We’ve priced the shows as low as we can, and we hope you’ll have us over!
As always, thanks so much for the support y’all have given over the years! Your continuous love and enthusiasm for the music is what makes any of this possible. It’s an honor to play for y’all and I hope to continue to do so for many years to come.
So, spread the word! Give what you can! Share this fundraiser with your friends and family and let’s make this album the biggest one yet!
Risks and challenges
This album marks our 5th fully independent release. Since the start, each album has been a tentpole under which we cast out for more and more shows, fans, reviews and general notoriety in the music business. Each album represents a chance to catch the ears of new listeners, both in and out of the music business.
It's hard work to be heard, and most of the the work to get heard happens invisibly, before the album becomes available for purchase. The music business is strange and we're more involved in it than ever. We're excited to take the lessons we've learned (some quite recently) and apply them to the release of this album, and see what difference a little market savvy can make for our artistic vision. We're also excited to be building a team of music marketing professionals unlike anything we've done for any of our other releases. We're under a tight timeline. June will be here before we know it, and there's a lot to do. The good news, however, is we are more skilled, experienced, knowledgable, and prepared than ever, and we have a great collection of songs ready to go!
So, please donate and help us make this album our biggest one yet!
Thanks again for everything y’all.
