NEW LAST MINUTE STRETCH GOAL ADDED AT £3500 - with each image choice you will receive a printed copy of the story behind it which will be signed and dated by me. THIS WILL INCLUDE STRETCH GOAL IMAGES!
I have used Kickstarter for various photography projects over the last few years and when I saw the 'Projects of Earth' I knew I had to include my current project.
For the past six years I have been a self employed nature and travel photographer and I am just in the process of hosting my first exhibition in the North Yorkshire Dales, UK called Ever Decreasing Arctic Circles.
During the winter months I am fortunate enough to work as an aurora guide in Swedish Lapland (yes, it is as awesome as it sounds), and last summer we undertook a 10,000 mile road trip venturing deep into the Arctic Circle in search of the Midnight Sun. Ever Decreasing Arctic Circles features my favourite images from the last two years.
I feel it really fits into the 'Projects of Earth' category as the Arctic environment is under a huge strain from rising temperatures and images such as reindeer marching across a frozen lake could very soon be a distant memory. I want to share what this beautiful area has to offer and hopefully inspire people not only to visit but also to take action and get involved in discussing climate change at every opportunity.
This Kickstarter is basically an online viewing of Ever Decreasing Arctic Circles, with all the images available to purchase over a range or mediums. I realise that due to geography, work commitments and general life stuff not everyone will be able to attend, but after receiving so much feedback from my last project I wanted to make this exhibition available to the Kickstarter audience. Any profits made from this will be returned back to the exhibition pot to try and help the project break even.
If I'm fortunate enough to achieve my target then I am offering these stretch goals which will give you a lot more for your money. These are as well as your original pledge of the £10 reward levels and up!
A video complete with full image descriptions can be found here, it's around 13 minutes to allow reading time for the story behind each image. Make a coffee, turn up your favourite tunes and put your feet up :)
An online gallery of the images with full descriptions can be found here.

The first four rewards (£10-30) are printed on a standard photographic lustre paper. Lustre sits between gloss and matt giving a semi-gloss surface with richer colours and deeper tones.
FINE ART PEARL POSTER PRINTS
The surface has the look and feel of art paper and is therefore particularly popular with art oriented photographers. A special coating provides for the typical pearl effect. The extraordinary contrasts and depths achieve an enormous colour dynamic.
Specialised journals refer to this FineArt paper as an "exceptional publication of photographic papers". Above all, the silky finish gives this surface a very classy impression.
This is a much heavier photo paper at 285 gsm and will look visibly stunning.
PVC FOAMBOARD PRINT
A 5mm rigid PVC coated foamboard forms the base of these impressive looking prints. Incredibly lightweight and suitable for use in bathrooms and sheltered outdoor areas.
Due to its modern appearance, the photo print on the PVC foamboard sheet is perfect for home and office, for indoor and outdoor. With the direct UV printing, it is especially sun, fade and water resistant. We use exclusively VOC-free UV inks for the print.
This comes with an aluminium subframe ready mounted to the rear of the image. This allows for hanging straight out of the box and gives the illusion of a floating picture. Foamboard prints look awesome and make the image 'pop' from out of the wall!
The panel consists of two aluminium sheets with a polyethylene core. The image is printed on the panel with the newest direct UV printer. The panel is characterized by its lightness, high bend strength and weather resistance.
The print has an impressive saturation and colourfulness with high resolution and sharpness. It is realized through the newest direct UV printing with 6 colours instead of 4, including light inks, and sixfold UV cure. Even large and monochromatic areas are resplendent in saturated colours and absolute subtlety and fineness.

- The project itself runs for 7 days, commencing on the 20th August and finishing on the evening of the 26th at 9 PM.
- I will then immediately send out the backer survey for you to pick your images allowing me to have everything ready for when the funds hit my bank approximately 2 weeks later on the 10th September.
- Products will be ordered and the larger items will be shipped directly from the print lab, smaller prints will come to me and then I will distribute them by 18th September.
- Everyone around the world should receive their images by mid October.
- Happy days and high fives!
Kicking it Forward:I have recently launched Kickstarter #5 and am going to participate in https://kickingitforward.org whereby 5% of any profits (not the total raised) will be reinvested back into other Kickstarter projects :)
Risks and challenges
This will be my fifth Kickstarter project, with three of the previous four being successful. My last project over ran by approximately one month due to a few minor issues I failed to foresee but I head into this one confident I can deliver on time.
My biggest issue has been that as the popularity of my projects has grown, collecting all the data required to deliver has taken longer and longer. I have now realised that backer surveys need to be dealt with as soon as possible with more chasing up required for late submitters.
All of the images have already been captured and edited and it will take around 10 days from ordering to shipping them out to you. The bigger foam core and aluminium prints will be shipped directly from the printer to the buyer to decrease handling times. I have estimated October as the final delivery date however I am confident that they should be all shipped by mid-September.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
