We are about to embark on a magnificent journey. Independent filmmakers now have a support mechanism to help get projects made. What an age we live in!
"Call of the Abyss" is the story of Alex, a young man with deep emotional scars. His childhood was spent with an abusive step-father and a mother who loved him, but was herself too emotionally needy to leave the abusive relationship.
Now an adult, Alex was recently discharged from the military for being "emotionally unstable". And, after the recent and mysterious death of both his mother and her brother (an uncle Alex greatly admired), he becomes a recluse, withdrawing from society.
However, the prospect of finding his beloved uncle's journal, and following in his footsteps as a successful stage magician, gives Alex hope for the future.
Alex will learn that his uncle was into more than just stage magic. He had figured out how to travel through the universe, into other dimensions... into the Abyss.
Can Alex's best friend help him find purpose in life? Perhaps Anna, a woman with her own troubled past, can help. Or will the Call of the Abyss be too alluring?
Drawing on inspiration from cosmic horror stories told by authors such as H.P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard and Clive Barker, our movie will explore the possibilities beyond our current understanding. Beyond this tiny pale blue dot in a vast universe of frightening possibilities.

These are just a few of the talented actors who, just like the crew, are lending their time to the project.
The following are some of the talented artists and filmmakers who are lending their time, resources, and/or advice to the film:
Don Starnes, John V. McCauley, Chris Harvey, Glen Settle, Andrew Bland, Amy Demmon, Randy Neubert, Cristofer Adrian, Jeremy Vickery
This is the minimum we need to cover the costs to make this full length feature film. With it, we can make our costumes, build our sets and miniatures, and feed the crew. If we can reach this goal, we can, and will, take you into the Abyss!
Kickstarter allows for us to raise more money than our goal. If we could reach $50,000, it would be amazing! This would mean better creature costumes. Better miniatures. Better effects. And best of all, not only can we take you into the Abyss, but we can spend more time there and show you more of its frightening wonders. Let's do it!
Now we're venturing into dangerous territory. Dangerous, yet exciting. I say dangerous because the quality of the creatures and effects that we could create would leap enormously. It might even be too terrifying for mortal eyes. Perhaps it's better to avoid this goal. We can't be responsible for the nightmares our movie could induce at this level...
Would you like to see recognizable Hollywood talent be terrified by the Abyss? At this level we could make that happen.
At this level, the possibilities are unknown. The realization could be too terrible for any human's sanity to endure. Consider this:
"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown." -H. P. Lovecraft
It's fun to dream of the possibilities. I'd like to thank you for checking out our humble little project. You can help us by spreading the word. Post the link to this webpage onto Facebook and Twitter. Tell a friend. Ask them to spread the word. Again, thank you.
We want to take you into the ABYSS with us... See you on the other side!
