@Stephen Thanks!! :)
Just got my Galcon 2 box set. It. is. EPIC.
I seriously wasn't expecting it to be so cool. You really packed a ton of awesome stuff into the box. I love the magnet sets, and the marbles are kickass!
I got the poster earlier this week, but haven't checked it out quite yet.
Listening the soundtrack, and couldn't help but get a 'kick' out of Track 36 :P
@Will - Thanks!!
Long day at work, come home, mysterious package on floor, examine, infinite joy ensues!
The magnets are awesome, and many thanks for the thank you card (thanks, thanks everywhere!).
I'm very glad to have supported the game and yourself Phil, keep on truckin'!
Go go go guys :) waiting to receive it. I also just began my own kickstarter project Dogfight Elite :) wish me luck!
Hey, folks! Go support Phil & get Dynamite Jack in the Humble Bundle! It started today, and goes for another couple of weeks :-)
Phil, will Galcon 2 have retina graphics for the rMBPs?
Yeah, I'm definitely considering how to make zoom/scroll more user friendly. Good suggestion.
The beta needs an easier zoom function, maybe with ctrl+wheel?
Awesome! Congrats :)
Thanks to everyone who backed Galcon 2!!!!
Congratulations, Phil :)
I can't wait to play more Galcon, glad I found out about this in time to contribute ^___^
Grats on a successful campaign! :D I'm so glad you made it!
Congratulations for making it!
Yeah, $25.5K is awesome!
Jörn Huxhorn: Well, it was due to a very impressive PayPal effort after the campaign closed. Us backers went back to our respective communities with the sad story, and the promise that it would be an awesome and unique adventure game (easier to convince people about a project that has funded successfully than one that is still in limbo, ironically), and that post-KS funding put the budget back on track. But with a stretch goal missed, unfortunately (localisations; those will now be a community effort, and we'll make the best of it, which is interesting, because the number of native speakers is greater than the number of languages, and as a result there may end up being more semi-amateur localisations of languages than there would have been originally :-) ).
Great that we made it. Nice final sprint
Thanks for spreading the word!!
I just saw that a tweet I sent out about the Kickstarter got 32 clicks! I'd like to think they all pledged :)
Woo hoo! You made it!! And now the last seven hours we really hope others will support so you can continue to put more into the game too!!
Oh, you are doing a Reddit IAmA too?! You are on the First Page!
Just posted a question here:
Couldn't be happier for you…
We did it! I am so very thrilled that funding was a success! And i just saw two more backers as I write this! Good luck to you Phil, I am confident you can create a great game.
@Adrian Yeah! I'm amazed it came together so quickly!!! And the GALCONATHON hasn't even begun yet :) Looking forward to that!
I don't know how you guys did it, but I could have sworn you had a third of the way to go yesterday, and now you're 100%+ funded today! Congrats! Must have been the Galconathon! I'm looking forward to doing some beta testing :)
Well done Phil, Nan and goats! :)
Oh right, forgot about the 24h rule. Yay! Funded! \o/
Didn't know that about that Jack Houston issue... :( How did they cope with this problem?
Ha, thanks Andreas, sniped while typing :-)
Doesn't matter if there are trolls or not. Kickstarter terms of service prevent any pledge from being backed out which can put the project below the funding goal (i.e., $23,834 is what I see right now... of that, only $735 can be backed out).
Now, of course, there is the other kind of troll, the kind who don't care about their credit score. On another project I'm very fond of (an adventure game called "Jack Houston and the Necronauts", which inspired my avatar, etc) there was one backer pledging $10K! When the campaign finished successfully, that person's credit card transaction failed, and they did not fix the problem. So the studio, Warbird Games, actually finished a successful campaign and landed *under budget*! Yikes!
@Jörn Huxhorn: You can't reduce your pledge so that it would get unfunded in the last 24h.
Tentative "Congrats!" for reaching the goal. It says $23,549 right now. Lets hope that there are no trolls...
Donation made, still not happy with the free to play idea, but in for a dollar in for a dime...
Sure thing, buddy! It'll be a bit tight, but we can do this :-)
@S.D. Thanks! I'll consider that :)
Backing for Linux support, Phil! I've played the Galcon Fusion demo (though I had to hack up one of the libraries to make it work at all), and found it to be really engaging. I'm curious; why haven't you chosen to add Galcon Fusion licenses as enticements in the reward tiers? That would have encouraged me to increase my pledge. I wish you the best of luck!
Thanks everyone so much for your generosity!!!
Heya Nan & Phil!
Keep up the great work!
It looks encouraging, even though there are only 21 hours to go!
I just doubled my pledge...
Phil is awesome, and I have upped my pledge from $10 to $100.
Here's hoping someone comes along at the last minute and gets the Galconicorn horn!!
I just upgraded from 10 to 35. I really want this project to happen!
Best of luck, Phil! I hope you get a big boost in this final 48 hours when people respond to their 48-hour reminder emails. Will you be doing a livestream or anything like that for the end? We did one and got a huge boost at the end.
If you can, let's help Phil's campaign out by boosting your pledge level! I did!! Even internally, if many of us raised our pledge levels we could help Galcon 2 reach its goal in the next 40 hours (or less when you are reading this).
Tweet about it!
Are you a fellow Indie Dev? Tell your fans about it!
Phil will be dong tons of outreach in these remaining hours. Help him out by being proactive yourselves.
Thanks so much for supporting him so far...
I contributed $10, IsoHunt told me on Facebook that you are awesome! Keep up the good work!
Keep on guys. Raise to the boxed version to be reminded that you supported great stuff everytime you look at your games shelf........
Initially I pledged 20$, now I doubled to 40$. At the moment I see 528 backers, 40$x528 = 21120$. So, even if everyone increase to 40$ this project will remain at risk!!! And just two days left! So, everyone should increase to 40$ or more. Otherwise even some 50-100 new backers in the last two days will not rescue Galcon2. Guys, hurry up!
@Alan - To answer your questions:
- The Galcoins will be given to the backer account.
- The Galcoins will not be device locked, your account will be able to used from your computer or phone. The Galcoins will most likely be locked to that account.
- I'll think about that! Thanks!
Will the Galcoins be spilt over each of the 4 people on the $50 tier or each?
Also will the Galcoins be account locked or device locked? id love to have my unlocks across both ios (when released) and pc.
Also a suggestion, are you able to bundle the other Galcon games in with the pledges? maybe that will help this pass.
Good luck guys.
@Edmundo - Thanks! The whole beta is all about feedback, so testing and ideas are a big part of it :)
Hey Phil, I just pledged $30, I hope this project gets founded! I really enjoyed, from the Galcon versions that I had played, the InstantAction one.. Its story just stucked me up in the PC for hours also at school, where I luckely managed to get the IA launcher work by using a Portable Firefox browser on my old USB and playing the game on the computer class.. I really liked the main character of the story (badly I have a bad memory so I dont remember his name). I remember the final partsof the story too, the beer cans and the final boss was epic!
Soo bad when I noticed that IA was closed, I really wanted its games could be released public, even without Online mode, but the story only.
Well, I hope this gets pledged, I can't pledge more, still depending on borrowed credit cards for paying (from a friend) lol.
Also, I'm very interested in helping you in some testing (I love hunting bugs and giving improvements tips) or maybe design tips, and even some dev? Because the windows store would be a strong hit, and I would like see it in the future on the new win8 computers, touch hybrid laptops and tablets as a must have App.
For adding a handheld support, for Ouya mainly, I think it could be interesting testing it if the control have 2 Sticks, 1 for controlling the origin planet and the other stick for the destine planet.
Anyways, I try always to learn something new and help people at the same time too.
I hope your project get launched soon!
