The "Permanent Hard Drive" is a technology suite that is Patented and/or Patent Pending that centers on Data Storage and Data Transmission. US Patents US15729531, US15231772, US14533074. Those who watch Silicon Valley will think "compression" where in fact this is an actual increase to the capacity instead.
To be very clear the Kickstarter is explicitly for costs associated with making prototypes of the technology so we can then market the technology in full.
Using combination based mathematics we take part of a data layer away and produce a second data type. This storage medium is permanent in nature. This provides some advantages.
1) Unhackable Operating System
Yes that is for real. By changing the firm ware to read only the PHD side for the OS there is no way a hacker can alter it. Or you can protect most while allowing updates to a small portion.
-Edit: There are some on Reddit who think this is a bogus claim. Yes they are there. Mathematics is hard for them so they cannot comprehend.
2) It stays optimized.
No slowing down with age since it will hold the same locations forever.
3) increases usable read/write memory.
By encoding things from the factory on the PHD side you will actually see a significant increase in the memory on your smart phones, laptops, desktops and tablets. Typically I expect most to see a 20-30% increase on computers and a 30-40% increase on smart phones and tablets.
4) Niche Market advantages
There are many unsupported IoT devices out there. Using the PHD suite they can be made secure against hackers. Hospitals, Fire Alarms, Facilities Devices, and more will benefit in robust security.
- Edit: IoT devices in hospitals almost never get upgrades. This is because people are scared of the FDA approvals required to do the updates. This means often a hospital or medical device almost never gets upgrades.
5) There is a possibility the technology will work with existing internet equipment.
However this is not guaranteed. What is known is the method, under adjustment, works to provide additional bandwidth. This may require new equipment capable of reading the changed data flow and in transmitting the changed data.
Funds will be used as follows:
$290,000 for the prototypes
$50,000 for software
$10,000 for travel, lodging, and shipping costs
$150,000 for payroll and purchasing needs.
I intend to hire a programmer if one cannot be found for an equity stake, hire additional employees as needed, and to get four total prototypes made. The first will be non-modified and will be a comparison tool to the others, the other three will be made at different levels of binary to combinations levels to test for possible engineering issues and to ensure a successful prototype. If the bids are low enough additional prototypes will be made.

Risks and challenges
This technology is mathematically based and will increase the amount of data stored. That said there may be engineering issues that limit how large the gains are, there may be unknown cost factors in incorporating the methods, and expenses in prototyping may be higher than expected.
While magnetic drives and solid state drives are optimal for use of the technologies other data storage types may be cost prohibitive to enhance such as optical drives.
The rewards are based upon a successful prototype stage producing at least one working drive that can be demonstrated to corporations for potential licensing. If the prototype succeeds and production is started earlier than expected rewards may come in earlier. The reverse is also true if there are delays.
