"The right to art is the most sacred of the human rights."
Twelve performances. Ten cities. Eight days. Forty-seven adult artists and performers with developmental disabilities. We called it "PHAME: the H is for Honored Tour."
The inspired artists and performers from PHAME take center stage in this heart-filled new documentary from Portland, Oregon's own Runaway Mustache Productions - "In This Together."

WITH YOUR SUPPORT,
we can complete post-production on this exciting new documentary, shining a light on some remarkable under-recognized artists, and successfully pull off a major August 1st debut showing of "In This Together" at The Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon!
About "In This Together" -
Along "PHAME: the H is for Honored Tour" - March 14 to 22, 2012 - a group of artists and performers from PHAME - the Portland, Oregon community's fine and performing arts group for adults with developmental disabilities - visited communities across the metro region, showcasing their remarkable talent and tenacity; their hard work and heart; their imagination and creativity and possibility to audiences in Portland, Hillsboro, Milwaukie, Estacada and Beaverton, Oregon, as well as Vancouver, Washington.
"In This Together" asks us to look freshly at what it means to be an artist; and to look more deeply at the very definition of art itself.
Through the compelling personal stories of PHAME's inspiring student artists and performers of "In This Together" - students like poet and playwright Chrystal Figueroa, or conductor Edward Elder, or writer and actress Brenda Bargmann - you'll be challenged, delighted and inspired by some remarkable artists and performers.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO BRING "IN THIS TOGETHER" TO COMPLETION!
After capturing hundreds of hours of footage, conducting dozens of interviews and eating more sandwiches on the road than we can count, PHAME and Runaway Mustache Productions are excited to complete post-production on this incredible documentary and pull off a successful August 1st premiere.

"I think it's about happiness, and feeling proud of who you are. It doesn't matter what talent you have, it matters that you have fun with it."
- Chrystal Figueroa, PHAME student
This project started as a short film project. "Let's roll film every hour on every day of the tour, and see what happens," director Alex Huebsch said early on. Then after getting through the end of the tour - culminating in a raucous and cheering show at Portland's Aladdin Theater - it became clear that something large-scale, poignant, affecting and absolutely life-affirming was taking shape.
We need your support to raise $5,000 for "In This Together," to be used toward:
Sound mixing and color correction
Cinematographer, animation, director of photography
August 1st premiere marketing and other event expenses
Audio rentals and other production incidentals
Kickstarter thank-you's :)
If we raise more than $5,000, we'll be able to cover additional producer, director, editor and cinematographer fees; more robust August 1st premiere event and marketing efforts; submission fees to local, regional and national film festivals; graphic design fees; additional DVD printing/packaging fees and more.
YOUR SUPPORT makes an enormous difference to us!
"Being around a person with developmental disabilities is just like being around a person without. You look at the person as a whole. You don't focus specifically on the disability."
- Pat Hansen, PHAME student
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support, and we can't wait to share "In This Together" with you soon.
Film trailer music: "Hands in Pockets" by Laura Gibson, from the album "If You Come to Greet Me" (2006)
