ACTON RocketSkates: World's First Smart Wearable Mobility

They are electric, motorized skates. Simply strap the RocketSkates™ over your shoes and off you go!
Remote controllers? We don't need remote controls! Your hands are now free for interpretive dance moves as you cruise about town- your feet control the skates.
Each skate has two hub motors controlled by an on-board microprocessor, and are powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. The skates communicate with each other so they maintain the same speed and behavior.
RocketSkates™ connect to smartphone via the ACTON App. You can monitor your skates and their performance. Route tracking, skate diagnosis, battery status, games, and social interactivity; the app keeps you in touch with other RocketSkaters.
A Software Developer Kit (SDK) will be available for developers interested in creating games and app features for RocketSkates™.

Remote-Free: World's only lightweight, remote-free electric skates. Just use your feet to kick off and you'll start rolling. Control the skates with your feet by tilting the skates forward to accelerate, and tilting back on your heel to apply the brakes.
Strap-In Design: Allows you to wear almost any shoe you want, and strap into the RocketSkates™. The skates come with an adjustable footplate for both large and small feet.
Walkability: Because your feet are so close to the ground, you can walk with the RocketSkates™! The RocketSkates™ are designed so that you can walk with the skates on if you need to go up a flight of stairs or want to stop for some coffee.

The ACTON mobile App connects to the RocketSkates™ via Bluetooth. The App will support the latest iPhone and Android OS.

The pledge level for Developers will provide advance access to our APIs. Create custom apps, games, or integrate with other devices such as watches or glasses.
The ACTON RocketSkates™ app includes Geo-Gaming.
Geo-Games are digital games that you play in the physical world. On the RocketSkates™, you become the avatar in your metropolis. Compete with other RocketSkaters and win points to earn rewards.
Solo Geo-Games like the "Shape Game": Draw a shape on the map and ride its path on the RocketSkates™. You can claim coins along the way and discover hidden items around your city, shown in the app.
Team Geo-Games like "Capture The Flag": Mark local points of interest and draw your own racing route. Race with friends and other nearby RocketSkaters to capture a flag; claim real landmarks in your city.

The ACTON RocketSkates™ includes R-Control.
R-Control is an auxiliary application that lets you control the lead skate remotely through the app. Play RocketSkates™ Geo-Games remotely or just mount an action camera and discover new ways to see the world.

We're starting to cut molds right now, but we need to place an order with the factory- they have some pretty big minimums to start producing products.
We are allowing our customers access to our SDK to create even more experiences with the RocketSkates™. We really want to see what kind of games and other fun functionality our creative community come up with.
We are developing the digital presence of our RocketSkates™ and require further funding to flesh out the interconnected and social experience of skates.

Risiken und Herausforderungen
SUPPLY CHAIN AND LOGISTICS
With the experience we gained developing motorized skates, we have found a number of great suppliers and fulfillment facilities to meet our needs. We currently have pre-production level RocketSkates in our hands, being used in the video. They have production level parts that we are ready to open molds for. The only real risk is that individual suppliers would deliver later than expected. To avoid this potential pitfall, we have at least two backups for each supplier.
