NOTE: All proceeds from the $5 digital graphic novel reward tier of THE CHAIR will go directly towards families that have been affected by Hurricane Harvey.
We will be coordinating the donation with Jen King, who is currently running a charity auction out of her comic shop Space Cadets Collection Collection -- thank you.
On a personal note, like so many others, Roddy was one of my childhood heroes. It was an honor to have him be a part of this film and it was a surreal experience to get a call from him, wanting to make sure that he did right by a character that I created. His portrayal of "Murphy" in this film is absolutely disturbing and yet relatable at the same time; it's easily Roddy's best acting to date.
During the course of filming and even afterwards, I had a few great conversations with Roddy that I'll always remember but the one thing I regret, is that I never got the chance to meet him, shake his hand, and say thank you.
So thank you Roddy, for being a part of this film.
You became more than a hero to me, you became a friend.

On Death Row, The Only Monster Is Man...
THE CHAIR began life on Kickstarter and it's only fitting that we've come full circle like this. The film is done and everything is ready to go to press.
If fully funded, will enable us to start prepping and formatting the film for a digital release as well (iTunes, Google Play, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.). As the campaign goes on, we'll introduce stretch goals and stretch rewards as we try to unlock new digital avenues of distribution for the film.
Here's some history on THE CHAIR...
THE CHAIR started out as a print on demand comic in 2006, that was quickly turned into a graphic novel and released in 2008. This year, it's been released in stores for the first time as a single issue mini-series - on newsprint - and for a dollar an issue. Yes, it's been a long road!
The comic was created and written by me, Peter Simeti, and the pencil work was by Kevin Christensen. Erin Kohut, who wrote the screenplay, also edited the comic.
...and a quick synopsis:
A man struggles to escape a grisly fate on death row in this intense story of betrayal, revenge, and humanity's horrifying capacity for evil.
Richard Sullivan (Tim Muskatell) is an innocent man struggling to escape his fate on death row... Witnessing the brutal killings of his fellow inmates (Ezra Buzzington, Jacob Banser, and John Siciliano) at the hands of the prison's sadistic and psychotic Warden (Bill Oberst Jr.) and his crew of guards (Roddy Piper, Noah Hathaway, Zach Galligan, Derrick Damions, and Kyle Hester), Sullivan decides that the only way to survive is to fight back. But as he's forced to match the brutality occurring in the prison, Sullivan is pushed to the brink of madness and begins to suffer from the trauma that his mother (Naomi Grossman) subjected him to as a child.
You can learn more about The CHAIR on our IMDb page.
This is the "Creator Cut" of the film and is different from previous versions offered through Kickstarter. While this version will soon be available in select stores and online, this Kickstarter campaign is the only place where you can get exclusive rewards like a "piece of THE CHAIR" with every blu-ray/DVD purchase (this is a square inch of wardrobe used in the movie and worn by one of the film's actors).

Risks and challenges
The film is done and everything is ready to go to press. There are no real challenges here but we *would* love to be able to start prepping the film for digital releases across multiple platforms and this Kickstarter will enable us to do that.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
