What's the IF Anthology?
The IF Anthology was created by me, Peter Simeti (founder/publisher of Alterna Comics), and features a new theme every year. The book received rave reviews when it debuted in 2015 with a sci-fi theme and then went on to become a fan and creator favorite in 2016 (and three times the size) featuring a theme of super powers.
This year's theme is crime.
Packed with 38 stories and clocking in at 336 pages, it's the first IF Anthology title that will contain mature content. Stories will range from the impact that crime has on the lives it affects, the psychological and sociological factors that lead people down its path, to the way people deal with being victims of a crime. Crime-fighting has long been a staple of comic book storytelling, and this thrilling and thought-provoking graphic novel anthology will be no exception to that rule.
I see that the book is available for pre-order on Amazon and at comic shops when I use code SEP171104, so why should I pre-order on Kickstarter?
The IF Anthology began its life on Kickstarter and each year we've grown. It only feels right to be able to offer something unique to the Kickstarter community, whether that be signed copies of books, original artwork, sketches, merchandise, or even the ability to catch up on previously released versions and support directly.
If you'd like to pre-order the book at your local comic shop or on the website of your choice, by all means please do so. We're just trying to provide another means to get the book to people that want to support directly or people that would like to get things like original art, commissions, or signed/sketched in books.
Like last year, we're raising funds for the shipping cost of getting creators their books. We have nearly 100 creators on board with over 20 that live outside the US. Shipping is expensive and nearly everything raised of the initial $1000 goal will go towards those costs.
Who is involved on this year's book?
2017's IF Anthology features a cover by series creator Peter Simeti (that's me!) and over 100 creators involved.

I'd like to get an art reward. Is the artist compensated?
Absolutely! The artists receive the full amount of the contribution after shipping & packaging costs and Kickstarter processing fees. Art rewards do count towards the Kickstarter goal but we pass all of those funds over to the artists when the time comes.
The book sounds great, can we see some art?
Sure, here's the actual title pages to ALL 38 stories:
I'm short on cash, can I still help out?
If you're not able to contribute monetarily but would like to support in some way, please share our project on your favorite social media outlet, thank you!
Risks and challenges
There are absolutely no risks here as this book is currently printing as you read this. Some of you may even receive your rewards before the book hits shelves in November.
I've had a string of successful Kickstarter campaigns and I've helped guide over 20 other projects towards success as well. Rest easy!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
