I thought Yithians only need three unplayed civs (for a six player game)? If I’m a Corvette Pilot and add on three extra civs, including Yithians, doesn’t that cover their playability?
Seriously though, who are those 8 Base Commander pledges? The extra value in the upgrade to Captain is insane. It's $125 in extra upgrades ($165 retail price) for $20. I'll loan you the money myself!
@Sandy Petersen ... thanks for confirming my sanity :D .... communication is tough and you guys have been pumping it out. A mistake sucks, but few seem to have been made ... or at least noticed. Excellent comms overall, beyond excellent really!
i am super happy there is a 4x game on Kickstarter. 4X games are few and far between, the fact that Sandy makes it , and his trademark of many factions makes it all so much sweeter.
Just a random thought.
Good that I read this update. I thought the physical art book was included in the Captain level. Upped my backing to include the book. Looking forward to next August :-).
And also on the back of the civ sheets.
@John Card II: Difficulty ratings are already present on the randomizer cards (see updates #27 and #28). :)
Thanks for the table! Maybe a future version could color the Civ Name column green|yellow|red to match their difficulty level?
Can I please ask for this chart to be added somewhere in the rule book with a 5th column suggesting how well they work in 2 player games? While I have no intention to play this as a 2 player game, I think quite a few people would indeed appreciate that!
Thanks for being awesome!
I agree with John Stevenson. The draft rule book provides a caution that some civs may play oddly in a 2 player game. Could recommendations on number of players be added as a column? Also grouping civs by difficulty would be useful in some instances.
That Civ chart is my favorite think in this update!
If the Civ Specialty chart doesn't exist in the final game, I will be making my own as a Player Aid, because I LOVE how it helps bring clarity to the Civs!
@martin: He was suggesting it as an addon, it's not included. :)
"Starship Captain - If your group loves neoprene mats, get that."
we get neoprene mats now? That is a good change.
Can the civ specialty chart be included in the game somewhere? Either on the back of the rulebook, or perhaps on the randomizer cards? I'm sure people with a lot of Civs may want some help picking which to play with their first couple games if they don't want to go random
Gah, I wish I could afford the Galactic Overlord! Ah, well, with Starship Captain I will have an amazing game on my hands soon... I've got to say, guys, this has been a terrific, well-run Kickstarter. This will be my most anticipated PG game since Cthulhu Wars.
Yup, it's included. The update was clarified (which doesn't help the email that already went out)
In addition, I believe the PDF for the Art & Intel is also included in Starship Captain. It says the opposite above.
@john The dice packs are included with the starship captain.
Same question as John, on the KS pledge page it has the 4 dice packs listed under the Starship level as well.
Yeah that was my bad. I got firmly corrected just now. Yes you get the dice packs and art PDF at Starship Captain. Sorry about that.
Best. Update. Ever!
The previous update, #48, indicated that the dice packs are included at the Starship Captain level, this update seems to say they are not. Please clarify?
