Onslaught 3 - and a gift for ye!

Posted by Arthur Petersen (Collaborator)

We are planning to launch Cthulhu Wars: Onslaught 3 tomorrow at 8 am CST (Cthulhu Standard Time).

It's got some exciting new stuff in it, which you can preview RIGHT NOW at (I believe we are holding off showing the video until it actually launches, though).

Your Credit

If you are a backer on Onslaught Two - EVEN a late backer, we have a "Thanks" credit for you on Onslaught 3. During the Pledge Manager, you will have $10 of credit which you can apply towards shipping, add-ons, or almost anything really. Sadly, we couldn't figure out a way for you to use it to reduce your base pledge price (since we cannot make pledge levels specific for a group of people). But even if you only use it for shipping, that's a saving for you.

This credit is basically for your enduring patience with our shipping delays and mishaps of THIS Kickstarter. We recognize that without YOU, we literally wouldn't be here making great games. And so our collective hats are off to you.

Lower Shipping Prices

We found a new way to ship our products that is both more reliable AND cheaper. This means that the costs for shipping are going to be lower in Onslaught 3. Our estimated costs are given on the page at the bottom (right now, we only have confirmation of US, Canada and Europe, however).

Incidentally, and a FYI, the shipping prices for Onslaught Two were higher for us than anticipated, so we covered the extra costs. Our privilege. Just wanted to let you know we're not profiting off the shipping costs - quite the reverse.

Australia and VF

One of the reasons for the shipping change just referenced was that some Australian rewards were sent to the wrong continents! That's right, a few of our Australian friends STILL don't have their complete sets, and we feel really terrible about this. We have team members whose constant focus is on satisfying you guys - you are not forgotten, and we won't rest till you get everything.

Also, we are working towards correcting the erroneous shipments to some backers in France and Belgium who received some English versions which should have been VF. This should be corrected soon. Thank you for your patience!

We are China Ready!

We should have a quicker turnaround this time, as everything you see on the page has been sculpted and the art and text is laid out. Once Onslaught 3 is funded we can immediately go into production!

Arthur, our project manager, has a short, informal video series about the various segments of board game development and production. If you want to know some details about our manufacturing process, you can watch the "We are China Ready" video on the Kickstarter page, as well as the other videos immediately following it (it's a Youtube playlist).

Yours in the Yellow Sign,

so, Ed disabled the link to the preview for the last 10 hours before launch or something.

So, THAT'S why the link didn't work, shortly after I posted this...d'oh!

@Magicpink: There was a huge thread on BGG about this. The overwhelming majority, including a number of women, did not find the sculpts sexualized. Which shouldn't affect your opinion, but PG also shouldn't change something the majority of people like.

Sadly, one size rarely fits all. Thankfully, the cultists are really unnecessary bling, and PG have exemplified this by including a base pledge that does not have them.

I'd pay for upgraded cardboard track add ons.

    6. Denis Maddalena

More than anything, I want ACTUALLY upgraded cardboard tracks. Like the thick stuff the tokens are made of. Calling those onslaught 2 tracks upgraded was kind of a sham.

      Onslaught 3?
Well, at this point I guess I might as well. I went all in for the previous two, so why chicken out now. :P I'd prefer to get the last of the O2 stuff first though. Got a bunch already, so just missing some stuff.
Odd though. I don't remember it being supposed to come in several shipments. Not that my memory is all that good anyway, but still. :)

      You Guys,
I respect your attention to customer service, but that wait time was not even bad. I started as a backer in 2013, and I am still waiting for projects from that time period to be fulfilled, (Palladium and Flying Frog.)

I look forward to the up and coming campaign.

    9. Brandon Stoltz on

Yeah Arthur that link is doing the same thing to me

    10. Daryl McLaurine

*Psst*, @Arthur, that URL just goes to the main page.

There is a remedy that was proposed on BGG...Don't buy them. There are already cultists in the base game. This is just "Bling".

I, however, considering this is a game of madness, corruption, seduction, and the ultimate doom of humanity, think a little boobage in a miniature is the *least* objectionable thing here, considering what kinds of dark sacrifices are made for....wha...whats that in the corner...wait...that color...NO! NO! AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

try typing in this URL in your browser:

I'm sorry you do not like them; we will endeavor to improve in the future.
However, we DEFINITELY have pledges that DO NOT include them, so you do not have to get them if you don't want! (I'm referring to the Wamp pledge which has all the new "gameplay" items).

The link only takes me to the Kickstarter main page, not to the OS3 preview. Even my old bookmark to the preview takes me to the main page.

One could argue that the acolyte designs might be flawed (I've seen some decent and understandable criticism on the preview page's comment section) but sexist? Not even remotely.

      Jesse on

Your being mocked because the comments on the acolytes are misogynist, stupid, and out of touch with reality. They look great, and if you don't like them, don't buy them.

Have you redesigned the objectifying sexist acolyte mins or considered new pledges that don't make us buy a bunch of stuff we don't want like people keep asking or at the very least stopped mocking the people that do ask?
