      Sorry for the long delay in communication. To clarify, we will be transitioning away from Kickstarter and focusing more on our website: However, we will post the occasional Kickstarter update as we have news that we think will interest all of you guys. Major app updates, new information on Romos, and potentially future cool stuff Romotive builds, these sorts of things come to mind. Can anyone else think of anything you really want to hear about in updates?

      For those (many) of you who are having problems with the Romo software, I suggest that you take them to the App store and write Apple App Store reviews on the Romo application, as I just did. This will be a greater motivation for Romotive to (quickly) fix the software issues that seem to abound. At this point, I'm getting pretty tired of waiting...

      @Parisri - We hope to have the new app update out soon! We hate keeping you waiting, but it would be equally bad if we release a software update that doesn't help resolve the bugs that are affecting so many of you. We want Romo to be a better experience than what you are seeing now.

      @Jitesh - I'm sorry to hear that Zendesk was a negative experience for you. You are right in that it was probably rushed given the plethora of people looking for information, advise, debugging help, ect. We're looking to improve and learn throughout this process. Hopefully the next time you come to us for help will be more pleasant.

      Come on guys, it's easy to build something on false and short lived reputation. This was not expected by anyone. At least an honest and continuous feedback is what I can expect and may be others too!!
      Everyone knows it's hard to rectify mistakes overnight!!
      You guys reply once in 710 days reply to 1-2 backers and that's it!! This is not accepted at all!!
      What about others, your Zen Desk looks like a failure too! The response was cold and seemed to be given in hurry without even addressing all of my queries.
      Can you please update what's going on?

      @Romotive That is insulting and feels like a couchpotato response. Theirs a plethora of video apps that just work great with iPhone 4 (Fring, Movicha, Tango, Skype, Facetime). How come a modern talented team like Romotive has the courage to say that iPhone 4 has limited processor power? There's video chat Wristwatch phone on the market, come on!!! The iPhone 4 has a 1Ghz ARM Cortex-A8 CPU slightly under-clocked with a PowerVR SGX 535 GPU. The Hubble Space Telescope has a Intel i486 processor clocked at 25Mhz and take freaking astonishing pictures.

      Its unfortunate that Telepresence requires an iPhone 4S due to the limited processing power of the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch. It was something we wish we had foreseen earlier.

      I'm hoping for telepresence support for the iPod Touch (4th gen.). I don't mind if it does not have the same feature set as when the iPhone4S is used. It would be cool to at least have the ability to drive Romo and see the video feed (that is captured by the iPod Touch); that is, no audio and only one-way video. Depending on the device being used as the Romo brain (and based on its inherent hardware capabilities), the Romo application could intelligently activate supported features.

      On a side note, I like the current support for being able to connect the iPod Touch (Romo brain) to my iPhone5's WiFi hotspot, instead of being forced to use an "external" WiFi network. It is rare that this sort of network connection and functionality work at the same time. (For example, with the Apply TV, I'm unable to find a way for it to use my iPhone5's WiFi hotspot while simultaneously allowing the iPhone to stream music to the Apple TV.)

      I'm very disappointed that telepresence is only for 4S. How can this be? I use my iPhone 5 as controller and iPhone 4 as Romo brain. I backed the Romo project for telepresence that I can connect from outside my network. looks like I have fancy rolling toy. Is this really the case that Romo will never be supported with iPhone 4?

      I love my Romo. I see a lot of potential with this little critter. I'm using an iPhone 4 for the brains on mine and I'm controlling it with an iPhone 5. However, I really was most interested in the telepresence capability. I have a few Rovios that I use for telepresence and I was hoping the Romo would work in a similar way. Will telepresence ever be available for Romo with the iPhone 4 or do I absolutely have to buy a 4s to get this to work? Also, once I put the Romo in telepresence mode, what port or ports would I use to communicate with Romo? Thanks! Chris

      @Todd Boschee, what is working for me on an iPhone 5 is to do quick and short swipes up or down in a small zone of the screen about a 1/3 down from the top - i.e. above the navigation pad and a bit below the very top to avoid the iOS Message Center tray.

      My Romo has arrived and although he's connected via my iPhone 4 and my Gen 4 iPad is on the same WiFi node, they can't connect with each other "This attempt to connect failed. Please try again." He has a cute expression, but I can't get him to move. Seems like this is happening to a lot of other people. I hope he bugs are worked out soon. He sure is cute!

      I have submitted a problem request (#308) to your new Zendesk 3 days ago and have had not response since. The issue I have with lack of any motion (includes tilt) appears to be that the battery in ROMO drains immediately you plug in the iPhone.
      It would appear that others are experiencing the same thing so obviously a problem with batch of units. The Zendesk setup unfortunately has no Knowledgebase data as yet so of no help. Your Updates have also ceased on this site so where is the help in resolving these issues? Surely a quick update is warranted so we can understand if there is indeed a widespread problem or just isolated cases. I suspect due to the lack of a response and no update of late on this Kickstarter area that you are inundated with issues.

      Yes, frequent reboots of the iPod touch on the Romo do seem to be the norm. I have a new 4th gen touch on Romo, basically clean out of the box, and anytime I show emotions or change modes it requires a reboot of the touch. The Romo is cool but the software has a way to go.

      Very similar issue to a few described below. I can drive him for awhile, then he stops. Still can take pictures, change emotions, but he doesn't drive any more. Haven't figured out what, if anything the dance mode does

      When I control him the direction by the joystick and changing his facial expression.
      Later I can't control him the direction again.
      What's wrong with him ? Very sad .

      Hello! It would be great to get some kind of manual about Romo. It has arrived but the I get the phone in and regardless of the chosen mode is stuck in trying to do circles? Did not impress too many people yet. As well how are we suppose to put the robot in telepresence mode? I can only see the remote control.

      Romo's pretty cool, but he doesn't like being disconnected from a remote driving app - he stops & the app must be restarted before I can drive him again.
      He seems to do more or less nothing in "autonomous" mode, as well.

      For mine. I had to reset Romo every time to get it working again via driving mode. I'm not sure if it's a hardware problem or a software problem.

      My Romo also doesn't drive anymore, either on its own or in dance mode.

      This is pretty disappointing -- I've had it less than 24 hours.

      I'm kind of surprised Romotive doesn't have a help desk up yet.

      Seems like the Romo app is ready for Telepresence but the website isn't running yet.
      If you activate Telepresence Mode, you can e-mail someone who you would like to control Romo.
      But after several tries on different accounts, I didn't get an e-mail yet.

      My Romo arrived yesterday morning (though the tracking link said it was returned to the UK however)
      About yesterdays software update: When I first tried the new software on my romo (was loading over night) I didn't really get him to move in control mode (iPhone 4S & iPad2). The 2-way-control was like stutter movement and the tank mode didn't work, only in joystick mode I could drive him, but real slow.

      After a while of realoding, I tried it again and he did great! Perfect movement on every mode, he got dizzy, propped up himself and is really fast now!

      The only thing I didn't figure out yet is the "follow a shiny opject" function. The face recognition works good, but only in well lit rooms.

      I guess nobody (who's asking for passport) received it yet and they'll send it later.

      Just got my Romo yesterday, and he's definitely got a personality. Updated the app, but no instructions on how to use the new features, especially how to use "telepresence " mode , new menu and vitals?

      That Help Desk certainly needed. My Romo lasted only a few minutes with motion and now cannot drive itself or be driven by another IOS device. Seems like the motion mechanism is disconnected. Others are reporting same issue. Not very robotic at the moment. And with no method of trouble-shooting, not much can be done to address. Looking for answers . . . .

      With the newest app update I can't drive my Romo from my iPad anymore. :( He moves in dancing mode, but in remote mode the only thing i can do is changing his facial expression. It doesn't react on any driving instructions.

      Where is the download link for the MacOS controller app? I'm running version 1.0.6 of the Romo Controller app, and all I get is "Failed to connect," even though I'm on the same wireless network. I'm not even sure I'm running the correct version. The download link that used to work is dead now...

      I've seen this posted a few times on here already regarding Romo and turning. Just got my new Romo today and it seems when operating on anything other than hard wood flooring it turns super slow or almost impossible to turn at all. Anyone have videos of their Romo posted online for comparison?

      Also now that Romo is out in the wild, any update on the SDK for those of us who backed the hacker edition? I'd be happy with just the ability to move like the original first generation.

      Got my Romo today, too! :) Was so excited to unbox it! Unfortunately it came without passport... But I'm glad he made it through customs without any problems. :)

      My main concern is the speed is not like in the videos at all. Driving on very thin office carpet and it can barely turn.
