Perplexed Music is an original short screenplay by Mark McGann about the cycle of devoted love, loss and rebirth based on the Petrarchan (Italian) sonnet of the same name by Elizabeth Barrett-Browning.
The film will explore the temporary madness and isolation suffered by a middle-aged man (played by Mark’s brother Paul McGann) as he battles for reason and stability with worlds past and present in need of closure and the strength to continue on his journey without his recently deceased life companion.
The film will be shot entirely on location in Somerset and Cornwall in Spring 2017.
Risks and challenges
I suppose the only real challenge is if we are unable to film at certain locations on the allocated days. However, our work in preparation for such eventualities is done with many years of experience in the process of production planning and delivery, both as Drama Direct Ltd and with other third party production companies. As the project rewards carry no obligation for a future financial return for any pledges commitment, we are extremely confident that all can be achieved and fulfilled as stated within the time frame and budget allocated. This project is a completely self-contained and in-house production which does not require any approval or review from an outside company or agency.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
