Update 58: What's Next for The Deep End
We hope you're having a great spring. So many great games (and movies) coming out lately, it's hard not to get excited!
We've had some REALLY exciting stuff going on at The Deep End that we'd love to share with you.
First off, at PAX East 18 we showed off a demo of Perception in VR! People were FREAKED OUT to say the least! To actually be IN Echo Bluff is an experience like none other, and we're excited to say that there WILL be a Perception VR version coming out within the year! While we can't specify dates or exact platforms, what we can say is that there are some very special features we are adding that really take advantage of the tech and what makes VR so exciting. We can't wait to hear what you think!
Also at our PAX booth, we teased our next project - Dark Web! Framed as an anthology of short, replayable horror games that come out in separate episodes (think Black Mirror or The Twilight Zone), we had guests to our booth actually vote on which episode is going to come out first! Results will be revealed soon, but if you'd like a peek inside what The Dark Web Experience was like, check out Bill's article on it here.
Conference season has been busy for us, with Amanda also attending ECGC and GDC. Amanda spoke at GDC on stress, and even though the talk was catered to game developers, we think the advice is universal. Check it out here!
We have an EXCITING Kickstarter to share with you! Our genius of an Audio Director, Jim Bonney's bluegrass band Crosscut Kings is funding their first 45' single! Check out their Kickstarter and support the guy who brought the Perception creepiness to a whole new level!
Lastly, an update for the dozen or so of you who opted for no code and a physical copy - there were a number of factors slowing down the production of this, but we can happily say we're just about over the hump, and will be getting these printed soon. There were a couple of vendors we were going to work with, but things didn't work out and so now we're with a partner we're comfortable with. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please email email@example.com.
Thank you guys so much for all the support! The best ways to stay in touch with us these days would be Twitter @thedeependgames.com or our FB page, or you can always email me firstname.lastname@example.org about anything.
