TRANSPARENT SPEAKER UPDATE #17
We hope that the holiday-season has treated you well and that you’re just as excited about 2014 as we are.
Our three prototypes will been soon be joined by our batch of 24 pilot run units, and will continue to find their way around the world. The Transparent Speaker can currently be found for tryouts in both Stockholm and London, with the most recent addition being the Festival of Imangination over at Selfridges, London.
More locations will be added with the arrival of our first batch of Pilot Run units. To make it a little bit easier to see their locations we’ll be updating their locations to a Map found over at: http://bit.ly/1d1LSwe
More rugged dust caps
Good news for those of you with poke-happy children or friends. The centerpiece of the drivers is an unfortunately popular component to be dented and damaged by curious fingers. We’re happy to say that we’ve replaced our paper-based dust caps with a much more durable poly propane one that should certainly take the test! (Though this doesn’t mean that you should go around poking you drivers all day)
Per is currently on location with our manufacturing partner in China and inspecting our manufacturing process, the assembly line and making sure that our ingoing and outgoing quality control is up to par with our standards. Our first components have started to come out of our plastic injection molding. All mechanical requirements have been met in this process, but we are still currently tweaking details within the finish & details. We expect to give news during the month if this will affect our current plan of starting production in end of January.
Thank you for tuning in,
