TRANSPARENT SPEAKER UPDATE #16
Winter is coming closer to our delight and November has given us more news to talk about on our manufacturing and testing front. Injection Molding and Certification have been the largest progress points of the previous month. We’ve been presented with news, challenges and we’ve slightly redrawn our path after our findings
Injection Molding Status: Our manufacturing partner is a well known player with a few of the industries’ most respected audio names up their sleave, being a small but innovative player unfortunately does not let you skip their internal queues for things such as Injection Molding. To speed up this part, our manufacturer chose to use an external partner for our molding. Due to this proving to still be more lengthy than anticipated, we have chosen to move back to the internal production and also managed to get a good spot in line. Tooling is now estimated to be on track on the 15th of December leading to all plastic parts being out of tooling on the 25th of December.
Certification Status: The prototypes have come back fresh from the German certification agency TÜV with due feedback. Our engineering team had to modify our circuit board after the first round because we didn't pass the EMC and LVD tests. We are however happy to say the modification proved successful and we passed these tests last week. The remanding certifications such as REECH and ROHS will be done on our Pilot Run Batch.
General Estimation Update: With tooling moving back into in-house production and being completed on christmas day, we are being slightly delayed in our estimation of February. As of now, our Pilot Run of the Transparent Speaker will be reaching our warehouses in Hong Kong, London and Los Angeles on the 10th of January - giving us approximately one month delay on our previous estimations. This meaning that the Transparent Speaker should be arriving to you during March month.
As usual we'd like to say thanks for tuning in, and we'll keep you posted on all coming developments.
