Day 7 of Our 7 Day Campaign!
This is it- last day of our #Allin1, a 1 week thing encouraged by Kickstarter. We've learned a lot and want to thank our generous supporters and the great Kickstarter community. 1 take-away is this-
It's plain that Kickstarter itself has wandered away from it's original mission- to provide a platform where startups could be seen and heard. The internet itself is a blizzard of real information increasingly drown out by spam, scams, middle men, and rivers of eye candy. On KS, it's increasingly- established businesses pre-selling established brands.
Our game is very popular with those who've played it. And it'll be for sale soon, one way or another. It may just take a bit longer. We believe games should entertain and intrigue- the rest will take care of itself. Look for more about that on peltagames.com .
Here's a quick look at the game- (for playtest video go down to Basic Game Play). Or go play it right now ON TABLETOPIA! (IE or Safari only)

What / Who are PeltaPeeps
PeltaPeeps is a game from Pelta Games. This simple but deep game has a rich story that's expressed in each piece as well as how it plays. It really starts long before the game was made. Go down the page to What We Are for more about Pelta Games.
So this is the 1st game from our #Magic Game Table and the story of the PeltaPeeps appeared at the same time. It was found on the table along with the game design early Thanksgiving morning, 2016. All we can reveal from the story right now is this-
"...PeltaPeeps keep much of their ancient Peltan qualities, but in peculiar, concentrated ways. Like their habit of falling in love at eye contact. They're pretty competitive and smart... often act odd and do... funny things. They love a good laugh even though, like everything else- they can only do it with their eyes.
...so there're far fewer PeltaPeeps that are wide awake and on the loose. ...having adventures... happily looking for a new home where all their sleeping friends can wake... (to) build New Peltandia and live there for evermore."
In the notes the magic table left, it says, "...this game will help searchers on behalf of the original Peltragons, find the home they seek."
Of course, all this is pretty hard to believe. But what do you expect from a magic table?

Loosely based on gender and neural networks, PeltaPeeps combines making and breaking connections and shifting strategy to go eye to eye with other player peeps. The player with the most points is crowned Supreme Peepbah, Royal Peltarc of Peltandia!
2 - 6 players for all ages - only a few rules make play easy with endless room for surprising ways to win!
Each turn, you connect another of your team pieces to the growing board made up of PeltaPeeps. But watch out! Other players can change your plans and you can change theirs.
So keep an eye on your fellow peeps or try to make deals - it's all up to you in a race to be crowed Royal Peltarc!
Basic Game Play
Object: Make the most points connecting pieces to win.
Game Pieces (Core game- 8 per player, Full game- 16 per player):
There are 3 different types of playing pieces -
1. PeltaDragon Eggs (PeltaEggs have scales),
2. Sleeping PeltaPeeps
3. Awake PeltaPeeps (have eyes)
Game Start & End:
2 or 4 and up to 6 players choose a color and select the starting player. 1st player places a piece in the middle of play area. Game ends when a player plays their last piece or cannot place one of their new pieces in play because there is no place that one fits.
Play continues with each player to the left of last player in rounds. In a turn player -
1. Must place a piece by fitting it into any piece or pieces in the play area.
2. May choose to move or flip any other player's piece already in play.
All scoring is done at end of game and is based on number and types of connections to other pieces as well as type and position of pieces.
Playing Time can be 10 to 20 mins for a 2 player Core Game or as much as 90 mins or more for a 6 player SuperSet Full Game.

Tabletop Gaming News -
"Most of us here are pretty nerdy. And many of us don’t make connections with others too easily. That’s what we’ve got our games for. It’s a social activity that helps “break the ice” with others. Well, Pelta Games is looking to bring something like that to the tabletop with PeltaPeeps, their new board game."

Unfiltered Gamer Blog Review -"PeltaPeeps ...(has) a lot of playability and strategy. Over time, players gain a spatial awareness and understanding, even intuitively “seeing” the good plays to make and how to best foil their opponents... The pieces are very playful and fun... The peeps have great personality that players of all ages will enjoy. And it’s just plain fun to fit pieces together. Players who enjoy strategy games like Splendor, Go, and Carcassonne will enjoy PeltaPeeps." - by Calli Welsch

Funding & Stretch Goals
All goals are about growing PeltaPeeps and our ability to deliver more. The 2 PeltaPeeps expansions shown below provide new ways to make plays. These sets also give each player a slightly different set to play against others making each team unique.
3 New Reward levels for each Expansion - 3 Bones/Arrows lvls and then 3 additional Special Powers lvls will be available when their stretch goals are unlocked. Each expansion includes the following:

Why Fund This
With your help- the $24,000 from this campaign will kickstart producing the game more cost effectively and in volume. From there, we will expand our capacity to add to this game and produce several others that are already in the works. Pelta Games is a startup with big ideas, a plan and long range goals.
Shipping and Fulfillment
Shipping is additional. It is paid prior to shipping. Backers will be notified at least 10 days prior to when your Reward is ready to ship. Shipping costs will be billed to backers via our Pledge Manager. You will be charged the cost required to ship the game(s) and applicable Stretch Goal Reward(s).
Fulfillment is in the order of when pledges are made.It will start on or before June 1, 2017. Fulfillment will proceed at shipping the equivalent of between 100 and 125- 4 player FULL game units per month if funded. This rate will increase to meet demand in relation to how many Stretch Goals are funded.
At this time, Fulfillment and Shipping are by and from Pelta Games in Panama City, FL USA. We ship worldwide using USPS which is cheaper than large international carriers such as Fedex. If we find another carrier or method that's cheaper, we will switch to it. Based on demand, we will also explore overseas fulfillment options to further lower shipping costs.
Flat rate for continental US is $6.
We estimate shipping charges of $26 - $35 dollars for shipping to EU and parts of Asia. Backers in other areas may have to pay more. All the estimates above are based on current rates and subject to change.

Risks and challenges
Our ducks are still wandering around some, but mostly in a row.
'Made in US' is a challenge and we've been told not to do it. But our creative process requires it. Price and production are the 2 problems there.
Price we are addressing by making quality and craftsmanship the top priority. In other words, yes, the cost is more to make games here, but if what you are getting is really very special it should be worth it.
One thing that's nailed down is production. No ugly surprises outsourcing because it will be in-house. We have the hands-on production know how including 5 years of laser cutting and engraving glass, wood and stone. Everything you see here was done by us- designed (us), built in CAD programs (us), and made (us) using our own equipment. Some materials we customize here. Others are made for us- locally if possible. And we have a clear path to scale up as needed.
Limited production is also part of the solution. At this time, we don’t have plans to release this game in stores. We will sell extra copies from our website, and we may have later runs if the demand is there. But, to be honest- we have too many other game designs awaiting production to make this one, (as much as we love it), a career.
Although this is our first game professionally, 20+ years in the software industry for Fortune 500 companies doing project management, UX development, and delivery gives us the expertise to do this. We're ready to go- NOW!
Maintaining the drive necessary to follow through is always a challenge. For us- the 2 best parts of all this are- noodling the game out and then being a part of the excitement when people get their hands on it. We get totally recharged by the WOW look on kids' faces when they handle the game pieces and the overall enthusiasm of young and old. It doesn't get any better than that!
But to do that way outside our small town, maybe even around the world... that would be uber cool.
So yes, Pelta Games is a startup. That's why we are doing this campaign. Kickstarter helps us gain exposure and connect with the amazing Kickstarter community. We plan to become regular contributors - launching new games, listening and learning.
Thank you for checking out PeltaPeeps and for your support. If not this time, please keep us on your radar. Maybe next time or the one after that we'll earn your support. We want everyone to enjoy our games.
