Our Kickstarter ends in 4 hours!  We're getting ready to order our glassware with the kickstarter funds - and since we reached our secondary goal we'll be having logo'd pint glasses for use in the tasting room too.  I wanted to share the proofs of the glassware we'll be ordering. Along with pint glasses, we're getting 32oz bottles and growlers to use in our exchange program so be looking for those to take home, filled with tasty beer, as soon as we open up!

After talking it over, we decided to do a slight modification to the t-shirt design.  To avoid undesirable placement of the bike wheels on the front, we've switched the back and front designs and actually like it much better this way.  We've also met with Seatthole, a local t-shirt company, to get started on the order.  Backers - be on the lookout for an email asking for your t-shirt size in a couple of days!

We've reached $15,000!!!

About 30 minutes ago, in a warehouse in Ballard, there were some loud cheering and jumping around with joy because we reached our stretch goal of $15,000!!!  I can't believe it.

Thank you to the 232 of you who have backed us so far and are helping make our dreams come true.  I'm also thankful for all the media about our Brewery and Kickstarter: My Ballard, Ballard News-Tribune, Biking Bis, Go Means Go, Seattle Bike Blog, Washington Beer Blog, Emerald City Burgers and Brews, Northwest Beer Guide (Pickled Liver), Seattle Weekly, and many of you individuals through your own social media outlets.  I also love that it was my mom whose pledge pushed us over $15,000.

If you've wondered what we've been up to this month, take a look at our construction photos on our Facebook page.  We've been very busy!  And for the swag side of it: I've already ordered the magnets, am working with a local company to get ready to order t-shirts, and I'm pricing pint glasses - lots of pint glasses - since now we're using logo'd ones in the tasting room!  We're also waiting (patiently?) for the government to approve our growler labels so we can order those when the Kickstarter ends.  It's happening!

And the crazy thing?  We still have 5 days to go!  So keep sharing about this awesome bike-loving brewery that's coming to Ballard soon - it's time to start bragging about how your name will be on a plaque on the wall of a sweet new brewery.

p.s. I will be in contact with all our backers when the Kickstarter ends to get all the necessary information, so be looking for that too.

Overwhelmed with Gratitude

Hello Kickstarter!

Today we have been busy working on the brewery, as you can see from the attached photo.  With the help of our friends Jessica and Kes, we stenciled the letters for our exterior sign and poured the concrete for our bar counter-top which is filled with bike parts.

When we finished for the day and I took at look at our Kickstarter I was completely blown away - we reaching our goal of $5,000!  In just 5 days!  How incredible.  I am also so excited about how many of our backers I have never met.  I am sensing a lot of excitement around a bicycling focused brewery in Ballard and I am eager to meet all of you.  Thank you also to the Seattle Bike Blog, My Ballard Blog, and the Ballard Tribune for featuring our Kickstarter.

Does reaching our goal mean we're done?  No way.  There are many, many more expenses beyond those listed in our project description.

New goal for the next 28 days:  Raise $15,000

This will help us purchase supplies to:

  • Build the system for our 8 taps
  • Build the temperature regulating system for the fermenters
  • Finish the construction of the cold room
  • Paint for the interior and exterior of the building
  • Use Logo'd pint glasses - instead of blank ones - in our tap room!

There's much more swag to be had, more room on our Founder's Wall, and more private parties still available.  Please help us keep raising funds to open our brewery soon and make it awesome.  Thank you all for your generous support, and if you haven't already, please share our Kickstarter with others!
