A brewery and tasting room located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle that supports bicycling and beer.
*** LATEST UPDATE ***
We reached our stretch goal of $15,000!!! How incredible.
I am sensing a lot of excitement around a bicycling focused brewery in Ballard and I am eager to meet all of you! Thank you to My Ballard, Ballard News-Tribune, Biking Bis, Go Means Go, Seattle Bike Blog, Washington Beer Blog, Emerald City Burgers and Brews, Northwest Beer Guide (Pickled Liver), Seattle Weekly for featuring our Brewery and Kickstarter and to all the individuals who have been spreading the word too.
If you've wondered what we've been up to this month, take a look at our construction photos on our Facebook page. We've been very busy! And for the swag side of it: I've already ordered the magnets, am working with a local company to get ready to order t-shirts, and I'm pricing pint glasses - lots of pint glasses - since now we're using logo'd ones in the tasting room! We're also waiting (patiently?) for the government to approve our growler labels so we can order those when the Kickstarter ends. It's happening!
Keep sharing about this awesome bike-loving brewery that's coming to Ballard soon. There's much more swag to be had and still a spot for your name on a plaque on our Founder's Wall or Bike Work Station!
Stretch Goal: Raise $15,000
This will help us purchase supplies to:
- Build the system for our 8 taps
- Build the temperature regulating system for the fermenters
- Build a counter pressure growler/bottle filler
- Finish the construction of the cold room
- Use Logo'd pint glasses - instead of blank ones - in our tap room!
Peddler Brewing Company is a Brewery in Ballard, WA (1514 NW Leary Way) that will be opening its doors this winter. It is a collaboration of Haley's dream of running her own customer-oriented business and meeting new people every day, Dave's dream of brewing and talking about beer every day, and their shared love of riding bikes. We will strive to be a gathering place for beer lovers and support bicycling as a great way to get around our beautiful city. Are our beers awesome? We wouldn't be starting a brewery if we didn't think so.
Peddler Brewing Company will have a 7-barrel brewing system which means it can pump out up to 14 kegs of beer per batch. That's a lot of beer. We plan to have 8 taps in our tap room with a few regular taps and a couple rotating seasonal taps. We also plan to have a guest tap or two of other WA state brews or ciders. Our indoor space will have a large bar and tables for guests to sit back and enjoy a taster tray or a pint. We will also have a growler and 32oz bottle exchange to take beer home, with a small deposit encouraging the return and re-use of bottles/growlers. Decide to ride your bike to our brewery? Perfect! We have an indoor bike rack that holds 9 bicycles and will have a bike work station for you to do some tune-ups, pump up your tire, or easily fix that flat. The bicycle theme will be seen throughout the brewery from the faucet handles in the bathroom to the gears in our concrete counter top.
We plan to be open (roughly speaking) Wednesdays and Thursdays 5pm - 9pm, Fridays 5pm - 10pm, and Saturdays 3pm - 10pm.
So, why do we need your support??? We've paid for all of the construction and building costs out of our own pocket, working full time jobs and doing all the construction and building up of the brewery ourselves in our evenings and weekends. We truly are putting our heart and soul into making this brewery a reality. What we need help funding are the final start-up costs that get our delicious beer in your face and your bike back on the road. These include:
- Purchasing growlers and 32oz bottles with our logo for our growler/bottle exchange.
- Purchasing and installing a bike work station that will include a stand, tools, and a pump for public use.
- Purchasing and constructing furniture and glassware for the tasting room. We will be buying chairs and pint glasses to use and will be building the tables and bar for the tasting room.
Your support is greatly appreciated and we've tried to find rewards that show our gratitude. Please see images below for what the sweet limited-edition t-shirts will look like. Pint glasses and magnets will have our logo as seen above. Rewards including pint glasses are listed twice, for local pick up and to be mailed. Save yourself the $10 in packing/shipping by picking it up at our location.
Become a part of our dream by supporting us - you can always give more than the minimum at the reward levels! And then please SHARE our project with your family and friends. As with all Kickstarter projects, we don't get any funding (and you don't get any rewards) unless we reach our goal!
Thank you for checking out our Kickstarter. Support us as you can, wish us luck, and we look forward to serving you a pint soon.

Shirts will be dark grey with light blue ink.
Thanks to Dan for the wonderful graphic designing!

Is this going to happen? Oh, it's happening.
Our project is largely completed and we have been met with challenges and setbacks along the way. Permits are already in place and the brewing equipment has been purchased. We're sure there are a few more hurdles ahead and we may get a little delayed by something we can't foresee, but we'll get there. We feel confident in fulfilling all of the rewards set above and plan to open this winter.
Yes! We've set it up so our tasting room is all-ages.
Maximum Capacity is 49 people.
