Thanks to your support, and to the editors and writers at Carryology, the Everyday Backpack and Every Sling are Carry Award winners...Best Active Backpack and Best Active Messenger, respectively.

This is the 2nd year in a row that PD gear has won top accolades from Carryology. Last year the Everyday Messenger and Field Pouch took the cake.

@Kai Chinn - they sure thought of that, a while back.

With some (minor) tweaks these bags are really perfect for their tasks. I carry around my sling most of the time for various tasks.

The backpack is terrific too, some wear on the dividers a lot faster than I'd expected, seems like peeling and fraying on the edges.

Both bags suffer from the overly smooth strap material which makes it slip out of position over and over again, and the padding side of the bags is pilling like mad even with moderate use. Seen the experience they have with bags, this something that slightly dissappoints me.

Hey guys! Its been several weeks since I finally got my pack and its been wonderful!

While I"m really concerned for the longevity of the pack because of the thinner material and a few design choices here and there, for the time being its' the most formal, professional and beautiful pack I have, which is kind of saying something as I've owned swiss and other established brands known for their quality that's above and beyond.

The customization inside, the ability to carry all the panels in the top compartment AS WELL AS have another section in that compartment to carry other items, the internal side panels, the side pockets and hidden features are all VERY much appreciated.

The hidden carry is a little uncomfortable when having something like a yoga mat as it presses into the mid section of my back rather than the lumbar region - it would be great if you could somehow lower this in the next iteration without sacrificing durability so that in most wearers, it would provide a comfortable posture aid and not a lump.

Passive design choices such as turning bulk into "incidental" posture aids or other shape-based functions would be a wonderful design addition/choice.

And please, much as I love the beautiful, grown-up and professional look of this bag, I strongly urge you to consider much more durable materials as packs that *look* this good, should be able to remain as good looking after at least a couple years of the same wear that any beloved backpack has.

Because backpacks, heartbreakingly, are only built and sold for a couple seasons before we never see that particular design again.

It would be really nice for my first few from Peak Design to still be with me when I invest in my next one from your company, full of thoughtful design improvements.

      Congratulations and wishing you well,
      -Jesse

Congratulations PD team for this feat! Ever since I laid my eyes on your products, I have been purchasing them and have now gifted to a photographer friend too! I now own a 13" Messenger, 30L Backpack, Field pouch, sling, Lens kit for my canon camera. I have used the 30L backpack for carrying everything needed for a 2-day trip and my camera, tripod, laptop, passport etc etc. People are in awe with the bag color (Ash) and do ask more about the bag! Happy feeling, thank you for your nice products!

Having the Messenger in ash now is certainly nice. But to be honest, I would prefer the backpacks etc. to be available in heritage tan. You can not argue about matters of taste, but I simply like this colour. I have a messenger and a field pouch like this.

Looking for more when it comes...
Have you thought of making a multi-Lens holder for your belt like this one~

Hi Late Worm, There have been a small number of users complaining of a squeaking noise at the axial attachments, in our experience a small drop of Mineral oil or Olive oil or other similar lubricant around the axial connection solves the issue.

We would recommend avoiding lubricants such as WD40.

I trust this will help in your situation too,

      Have a great day!

KS prices are already discounted prices, and you get the opportunity to select other products from the entire PD catalogue at discounted prices via the backerkit store. Backing a PD campaign ist not really a leap of faith anymore :)

I backed the project and received the 20l Backpack. It's perfect for me. I carry all necessary camera equipment, there is space for my tablet, laptop and I never loose my keys, as they are attached to the bag. It's comfortable even when carrying it over longer times wearing suits or riding my bike.

It's a well designed backpack. And, people notice it, it's beautiful. It was well worth the backing price.

I can say without an ounce of hyperbole that this is the best thing I've ever spent money on. I backed a 30L EDB in Ash and it hasn't left my side since arriving last year. I get such a sense of composure and security from the bag, as it allows me to carry precisely everything I might need on a given day. Every element of the bag is just right, from the ingenuity of the design to the precision of its fit and finish. It constantly draws praise from people, and puts up with everything I've thrown at it. You have made a fan for life, and I can't wait to see what you'll come up with next.

I am able to carry a laptop, Canon C100, Canon 5D, a flash, and two lenses in the backpack -- totally happy with it. The next bag I really need is an ultra slim laptop backpack like Beta Brand has made -- it can be hidden underneath a jacket :).

My sling bag began making squeaking noise from its pivot points, and it's getting louder. How can I reduce this noise?

Happy to see you guys win those carryology awards again. I've used my backpack every day since I got it and love it like a best friend. I'm an engineer and commute to work on my motorcycle, and this bag can go right from cruising to meeting in style , and hold all the gear I need for my day no problem. Huge HP ZBook 15, phone, chargers and all that digital office kit, project notebooks, business cards, pens and some multi-tools, extra layers for riding just in case, water bottle, sunglasses, and I can externally strap a lunch bag on under the bottom of the bag.. its kind of unreal how much this bag can hold comfortably on your back AND be completely organized with the internal shelves and pockets. I can get to any of the things I want in seconds, without disturbing anything else, and usually just with a one shoulder swing to the front.
If I needed anything else from this backpack, it would be some nice reflective strips piped at the seams for riding visibility , and maybe a different chest clip accessory that can let you really tighten the straps on your chest and spread the load and have a clasp that is easier to do with gloves on (like a kriega moto bag). But Im asking for motorcycle specific things at this point, so your bag is basically perfect...
