Frequently Asked Questions
Easy peasy. Here's what you do:
1. Become a backer of this project. At the top of the page click the green "Back This Project" button. If you're already a backer, click "Manage My Pledge."
2. Add the amount that corresponds to the size Range Pouch(es) that you would like: Small: $29, Medium: $34, and Large: $39 . Then save your pledge. Note that you can order multiple items by doubling/tripling/etc. the amount you increase your pledge by.
3. You're done for now. When we send out our fulfillment survey (late September) you will be told how much "credit" you have from your Kickstarter pledge. The credit will correspond to the amount of extra money you added to your pledge. You will then use that credit to add Range Pouch, or any other add-on products to your order.
-- If you want to Pre-Order Range Pouch on its own, choose "No Reward" and simply adjust the pledge amount in green at the top to equal which item/s you would like -- Small: $29, Medium: $34, and Large: $39 -- Then save your pledge. Note that you can order multiple items by doubling/tripling/etc. the amount of your pledge. (If you only order range pouches and no other bags, they will be shipped at a reduced shipping fee ($5 US, $10 INTL) Please add this to your pledge amount if you are ONLY ordering Range Pouch

Want to add an extra item to your reward? You can add any number of additional items to your reward with our Add On Menu.
How to add items to your reward:
1. If you’ve already pledged to this project, click the “Manage My Pledge” button at the top of the page. If not, click “Back this project” and pick one of the rewards. Every backer can pick one and only one reward level.
2. Look at the Add-On Menu in the project description above. Find the item(s) you want to add. Increase your reward by the corresponding dollar amount. You do not need to add any extra money for shipping beyond the $15 US (or $25 intl.) shipping surcharge that is part of your reward.
3. That’s it, you’re done for now. No need to do anything else until our funding period ends on September 9th.
In the weeks following Sept. 9th we will send every backer a survey. In that survey you will tell us which specific items you want to add on to your reward. You will also have the chance to add Peak Design products to your reward that are not in the Add-On Menu (see the next FAQ). You will give us your shipping details at that time.
See STEP BY STEP with Photos HERE:
Want to add a Peak Design product to your reward that is not in the Add On menu? We got you covered. Here’s what you do:
1. During this project, you don’t do anything. Just pick your reward, that’s it.
2. After our funding period ends (Sept. 9th) we’ll send you a survey to collect shipping information. As part of that survey, you’ll be able to add on any additional Peak Design items you want (anything found at peakdesign.com/store) and pay us the extra amount right then and there.
3. When we ship your reward, we’ll include those extra items in the same shipment.
Why did we not include all of our products in the Add-On Menu? We wanted to make it a less confusing experience for folks. In our past several Kickstarter projects, 80% of our questions were of or relating to the Add On Menu. It’s time we simplify, and have our main focus be on our new products. But, you’ll still be able to get all the benefit of adding additional items to your Kickstarter reward.
Will we give a special discount for items not on the Add-On Menu? Yes. It’ll likely be about $5 to $10 off each product.Last updated:

The Everyday Sling and Everyday Tote is designed to hold up to a late model 13 inch Macbook Pro Retina.
We speak in terms of Mac models because a) we're based in San Francisco and it's what people do here and b) PC models come in a huge range of sizes. For those with PCs, here are the maximum outer laptop dimensions that our bags can fit:

Not in the foreseeable future. Colors add a lot of stress to our supply chain, stress that will affect our ability to manufacture and ship these bags in a timely manner to everyone. So, we picked two universal color schemes that cover a really broad range of tastes. Rather than releasing bags in a bunch of other color schemes, we’d rather focus on making a wider range of bags, all inspired by the same aesthetic that you're seeing here.Last updated:
Sorry, you can’t get 2 rewards. It’s a limitation of Kickstarter that every backer can choose one and only one reward.
The only way to get two of a reward (such as the Backer Love Bundles or an Early Bird Reward Level) is to create another Kickstarter account with different email address and re-pledge to this project. You will have to pay the shipping charge again, and the additional reward will ship separately.
You can always add stuff onto your reward using the Add-On Menu (see the first FAQ) and you’ll even have a chance to add Peak Design products that are not in the Add-On Menu (see the 2nd FAQ). This will be more expensive than getting 2 Backer Love Bundles or 2 Early Bird Rewards, but it’s the best we can do.
The Bundles and Early Birds are helluva deals. You’re gonna love um, even if you just get one.Last updated:
At the moment, no. This is something that we plan to make available in the future, possibly as part of this campaign, but if not, on our website.
Right now we are focused on getting The new items in the Everyday Bag Line produced flawlessly, in large numbers, and getting our warehouses stocked with the necessary quantities to fulfill this campaign expediently.
Making the FlexFold™ dividers available by themselves is, believe it or not, a large undertaking. It requires dedicated packaging, the addition of another SKU and barcode to our inventory, and pre-stocking of all of our warehouses in order to fulfill orders anywhere in the world. It’s another variable in the overall equation, and with it comes additional risk of delay across our entire system. It’s a risk that we’ll eventually take on, but we don’t want to do it until our bigger priorities have been tackled.Last updated:
The Capture Camera Clip (Capture for short) is a small metal clip that lets you rigidly carry a camera directly on your belt, backpack strap or bag strap. Capture is Peak Design’s first product - we launched it 2011 today hundreds of thousands of photographers and adventurers use it.
Watch this video to see how Capture works: https://www.youtube.com/watch…
Watch this video to see how to use Capture: https://www.youtube.com/watch…
There are 4 versions of Capture (visit the links to learn more):
- Capture (https://peakdesignltd.com/store/capture) - our standard clip for all kinds of cameras
- CapturePRO (https://peakdesignltd.com/store/capturepro) - our professional clip, with an all-metal body and dual tripod compatibility
- CaptureP.O.V. (https://peakdesignltd.com/store/capturepov) - the same clip as Capture, but with a plate that lets you mount GoPros and action cameras
- CaptureBINO (https://peakdesignltd.com/store/capturebino) - the same clip as Capture, but with a plate that lets you mount binoculars
Many folks’ first reaction to Capture is “why carry my camera on the outside of my bag? It’s a recipe for disaster!” The fact is, having your camera accessible will change the way you shoot. You’ll use your camera more, take more photos, and better hone your craft. Capture is designed from the ground-up with your camera’s safety in mind. Plus, keeping your camera out of your bag gives you more space to pack other stuff. Trust us, once you try it you’ll never go back.
Capture works great with all kinds of bags, but it works amazingly with The Everyday Messenger. That’s because we put 2 dedicated Capture attachment points on the sidewalls of the messenger bag. These diagonal straps are sturdy and reinforced, giving you a perfectly sturdy and protected place to keep your camera.Last updated:
We have every intention of shipping all rewards so that they arrive to your doorstep before Christmas. That is a conservative estimate, with a good amount of padding in our schedule for unforeseen circumstances. We hope to start shipping out rewards sooner than December, but we cannot guarantee it.
We often get asked if we can expedite the shipping of rewards to individual backers in special circumstances. The short answer to that one is that we unfortunately can’t do that. If it helps, just know that after our funding period ends our team’s absolute #1 priority will be getting our backers’ rewards fulfilled as fast as possible.
For the duration of our funding period we will be putting final tweaks on our manufacturing, assembly and QA processes. Once those things are set, we’ll begin making production runs of our new products. When those new products are ready, they’ll be sent to our 4 fulfillment warehouses. And when all products are in the warehouse, we’ll begin fulfilling.
Depending on the number of backers, fulfillment could take a couple weeks to a couple months. No matter what, we will keep all of our backers completely up-to-date on our progress, just like we’ve done in the past.Last updated:
If you're in the US, we'll be shipping your package out of our Los Angeles fulfillment center using a ground service (USPS priority, FedEx or UPS depending on destination and shipment size). These packages will have tracking information that will work within the US.
Non-US orders will ship from one of our 3 international warehouses located in London, Hong Kong, and Toronto. In order to save our backers costly duties and taxes, Peak Design is going to be importing all of our products into these countries prior to shipping them to you. This means that your shipments:
1. Won't require taxes or duties in Canada, EU and HK (other countries may have applicable duties/taxes, please check with your customs office for specific details)
2. Will arrive quickly and not get held up in customs.
3. May have tracking, but may not guarenteed (depending on the particular post service, of which there are too many used to name). Most commonly for EU and Asian backers, Royal Mail International or Hong Kong Post will be used.
Note that we cannot alter the value of your rewards on customs declarations - the value will be declared as the total value of the items contained in the shipment.Last updated:
Sorry, we cannot do direct pickups of rewards. Our shipping system is highly automated and designed to get large quantities of stuff to people quickly and accurately, but it is unfortunately not designed to allow for manual pick-up.Last updated:
We're a small group of people dedicated to changing the way that photographers and adventurers work, explore and capture the world. We're based in San Francisco, CA, and this is our sixth (that's right, sixth) Kickstarter project. Things we love include taking pictures, being outside, making stuff, secret camping spots, crowdfunding, making beer and drinking beer.
We got our big start on Kickstarter back in 2011 when our founder Peter Dering launched the Capture Camera Clip in what was (at the time) the 2nd most funded Kickstarter project ever. Since then we’ve grown to 18 full-time employees and we’ve launched over 20 different photography/adventure products. Our gear is sold in hundreds of retailers in over 50 countries worldwide.
We believe that crowdfunding is the best way to bring new products to life. We also believe that Kickstarter is not just for starting a business, it’s for running a business and driving continued innovation. Why? Because it’s pure. It connects creators and inventors (like Peak Design) directly with customers who share their passion (like our Kickstarter backers). As a 100% crowdfunded company, the only “board of directors” we listen to is our backer and customer base. We get to spend our time doing what we love - making stuff that improves people’s lives - and not spinning our wheels on PowerPoint decks to convince a room full of venture capitalists that we are hitting our revenue goals.
Do we become rich when our Kickstarter projects generate tons of funding? Hells no. A giant chunk of that money immediately goes towards paying off PO’s for the new products we just made. The rest of that money goes right back into new product research, design and prototyping, trade shows, rent, office supplies, and all the various software, tools and services we need to run our business. If our goal was to become rich, we would have taken on investors a long time ago. But our goal is to be happy, love what we do for a living, eat healthy, and pay our rents. And that’s why we crowdfund.Last updated:
Yes. All Peak Design products carry a lifetime guarantee. That means if any part becomes defective or dysfunctional over time we will repair or replace it free of charge.Last updated:
While all of our products are guaranteed for life, we unfortunately do not offer refunds or returns on items received as Kickstarter rewards.
The support we get from our Kickstarter backers is what enables us to run and grow our business, gather customer feedback, design new products and improve existing ones. In the Kickstarter community, the items that you receive after making a pledge are referred to as "rewards" because they are not purchases in the traditional sense. They are gifts - in our case, camera products - that are sent to our supporters as a token of appreciation for their support of our business. In the same way that public television funds their service through the pledges of their supporters, who in turn receive gifts and continued programming, we have chosen to run and grow our business on a crowdfunded business model.Last updated:
