What a finish! $1.33 million raised from 12k+ backers. For a week-long project that ain't too shabby. Overall this was our 3rd biggest Kickstarter campaign (out of 7 total) and by a long shot our quickest.

First off, thank you.
Thank you for helping bring the next generation of PD gear to life. Thank (many of) you for supporting us in past Kickstarter campaigns as well, and for the constant feedback and suggestions that shaped the products we just launched.
At Peak Design, we specifically choose to not seek venture capital to run our business. We do that because our goal is to create the best products...not good, not pretty good, not pre-tty pre-tty good...but literally the best in their respective categories. And to do that, we think it's important that we have complete control over how we run our business. That means no outside investors holding us to artificial goals or deadlines. We put immense effort into product development, and we don't launch things until we know they are ready.
We're incredibly lucky and grateful to be in this rare position. We're able to do this for a number of reasons...low headcount, frugal marketing spend, a simple highly-considered product roadmap...but if it weren't for our Kickstarter community, none of this would be possible.
Your support allows us to continue marching forward. Your feedback steers the direction of that march. And your enthusiasm and passion makes us stoked to come to work everyday, knowing that we've got the best damn customers you could ever ask for.

Fulfillment surveys ON THEIR WAY!
Your fulfillment surveys will be sent out over the next 48 hours. We're sending them out in small batches so we can ensure there are no technical issues. The survey will be sent to the email address associated with your Kickstarter account. The email subject will say "Response Needed -- Get your reward for Capture v3, Slide, and Slide Lite Kickstarter" and will be from Peak Design.
In your survey, you'll be asked for the following info:
- Your final shipping address
- Your final color choices (if applicable)
- Your add-on products (if applicable)
- Feedback to help us improve future campaigns (optional)
You will also have the ability to change your reward, or buy additional items (at exclusive Kickstarter prices) that will be shipped alongside your reward.
We often get a bajillion questions around survey time, so we've gone ahead and laid out all the answers we can think of below. WHEN WILL STUFF SHIP?
We have every intention of shipping all rewards so that they leave our warehouses by early December. That means about 95% of backers (who fill out their fulfillment surveys correctly and on time) should get their new products before Christmas.
Please understand that this is our goal...we'll do everything we can to make it happen...but it is by no means a guarantee. To be clear, we cannot guarantee that packages will be at your doorstep before Christmas. December is an exceptionally busy month for post services worldwide, and delays happen on a regular basis due to inclement weather, port congestion, or high volume. We can also not guarantee that our manufacturing schedule will hold. If a machine breaks or a shipment is lost, our schedule can be impacted in certain areas. We always build our schedules with ample wiggle room for these unforeseen circumstance, but in the words of our dads, sh*t happens.
CAN I GET EXPEDITED SHIPPING?
We often get asked if we can expedite the shipping of rewards to individual backers in special circumstances. The short answer to that one is that we unfortunately can’t do that. If it helps, just know that after our funding period ends our team’s absolute #1 priority will be getting our backers’ rewards fulfilled as fast as possible.
CAN I PICK UP MY REWARD FROM A PD OFFICE OR WAREHOUSE?
Sorry, we cannot do direct pickups of rewards. Our shipping system is highly automated and designed to get large quantities of stuff to people quickly and accurately, but it is unfortunately not designed to allow for manual pick-up.
WHAT IS BACKERKIT?
BackerKit is a 3rd party service that helps project creators like us make our backers happy by sending out easy-to-use surveys and giving them another chance to take advantage of our Kickstarter discount. We've worked with BackerKit for our past 5 Kickstarter projects, and their services just keep getting better and better. So, please don't be alarmed by the backerkit.com URL or the BackerKit logo at the top of the survey...you're in very trusted hands.
WHERE'S MY SURVEY? I CAN'T FIND IT.
1. Hold tight, surveys are sent in batches to prevent website-crushing click floods. Check your email periodically for the next 2 days (between now and Nov 17th.
2. The fastest way to get to your survey is to go to the following site and enter your Kickstarter email address: https://capturev3.backerkit.com/
3. Maybe you're checking the wrong email account. Your survey was sent to the email address that is associated with your Kickstarter profile. Not sure what email that is? Login to Kickstarter, click on the icon in the upper right of the screen, and go to Settings > Account.
4. Search your inbox and SPAM folder for "Capture" or "Response Needed."
5. If all else fails, go to the survey recovery page, click the FAQ link, and then click the Contact tab. The kind folks at BackerKit are here to help!
CAN I BUY MORE STUFF AT THE KICKSTARTER PRICE?
Yes, and this survey is your last chance to do it. When you finish your survey questions you'll be presented with a screen that looks like a web store, and it includes nearly every product Peak Design makes. Here you can add whatever products you want to your reward at discounts ranging from $5 to $60.
HOW DOES THE ADD-ON THING WORK?
It's actually very straightforward. You can add on whatever items you want to your reward. If the cost of those items exceeds what you pledged, you can pay the difference via credit card in your BackerKit survey.
If you pledged more money than the value of your award+shipping, you'll see a credit when you get to the Add-On screen in the survey. As you add things to your reward, that credit will decrease. If your credit hits $0 and you keep adding things, then you will owe additional funds. Once you are finished adding stuff you can pay those additional funds via credit card in the next step.
DO I HAVE TO ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS?
Yes, and no. You must provide a response to every single survey question, but for the marketing-type questions, you may choose the "Opt Out" option if you choose to not give a response. Unfortunately we do not have the technical capability to let you skip those questions.
WHY SO MANY GOSH DARN QUESTIONS?
We want to know what makes you tick, so we can continue to design great products that solve your needs. We also pour tons of effort into these Kickstarter campaigns...not just in the design and development of our new products, but also in reaching new people who we think would dig our gear. We want to get a sense for what efforts paid off and where we can improve moving forward.

MY PAYMENT FAILED. WHAT DO I DO NOW?
If your payment failed via Kickstarter, there's still a chance for you to get your same rewards for the same Kickstarter price. You will still have a survey emailed to you, but it will show that you pledged $0. You will be able to pick whichever reward and add-ons you want, and then pay with a credit card.
Some international payment methods (particularly international bank cards) might not work with BackerKit's payment system. So, you may have to use a credit card for the payment to go through.
I'M MOVING SOON! WHAT SHOULD I LIST AS MY SHIPPING ADDRESS?
Give us your expected shipping address for the month of December. If you don't know what your address will be during that time we recommend not filling out your address yet. We'll let you know when we're ready to start shipping bags, and at that time you can go in and enter your correct address.
WILL I BE ABLE TO CHANGE MY SURVEY AFTER SUBMITTING IT?
Yes, you'll be able to change anything—your address, add-ons and even pledge level—up until we are ready to start shipping. When we're ready we will "lock down" all completed surveys, load your info into our shipping software and begin shipping your stuff. We'll tell you before we lock down surveys so you have time to make one last pass at them.
Note that we cannot lock down surveys that are incomplete. You must fill out your survey in full in order for us to ship you your rewards.
