We've waited over a decade for this game, so we decided to make it ourselves.
In the interest of developing the game a little bit more, we have decided to maximize our time and resources and cancel this KickStarter campaign to later start a new one in the upcoming months.
Do not worry, the game is not cancelled; just this current project.
We did everything we could do, but we failed in very important aspect; that being graphics.
For more information about this game visit http://www.pawbyte.com
Thank you all for your support and inspiration. We have taken your feedback very seriously.

Over at PawByte we're pretty big Otakus and wanted to wonder what would be the result of a lovechild of Dungeon Keeper, Code Geass and Death Note. Fans are awaiting sequel/reboot for each, so why not make our own imagery of how that lovechild would look if destiny somehow allowed it. With that you have Underground Throne.

*More coming soon.
Adbarlia is an unstable nation. After the government passed a law to harvest necessary organs from people who skipped on their bounty, you discover there is an entire new country underground living in anarchy. The Adbarlian government does not wish to get involved in regulating the literal underground world, so they simply pass a law to succeed it from the nation. What this means is that the underground world is literally it's own nation, but who will rule and reign over this new found nation?
As a young arrogant person you intend to become the ruler of this new nation. After receiving the power to teleport objects and organisms by a suspicious mystical creature your form an army to set his goal into a reality. As of now you have yet to tell your family from fear they will be in danger or attempt to talk you out of it, but your definition of justice is being the supreme ruler of your world. There are other people with your same ambitions, but you do not believe in partnerships only for people to obey you.
Aside from hiding this secret from your family, the Adbarlian governments and agencies are noticing evidence of your power and are attempting to track down the personal responsible for your actions. In a bizarre twist you find yourself constantly sneaking back to your Adbarlian home to divert attention from yourself. How long can this last and what do your friends think you are doing ?

--This is a continuous dungeon you manage which is connected to the PBU world. Be careful as your dungeon can suffer constant invasion from trolls. :D
That is just the stuff planned, the game will evolve over time.
I quit my job to go full time indie back in December 2013. I do not have the funds to pay for the staff needed to make this game, thus I'm asking the KickStarter universe to join me as we build this game.
Game Development costs money. It is that simple. Our goal is not to become rich from this franchise, but simply give gamers the experience they've been yearning for.
The purpose of this campaign is to pay for artists to upgrade the placeholder art you see in this campaign and video.
We have a reasonable and responsible budget to pay our team for graphics and audio as well as licensing and convention costs.
KickStarter has never failed us and it is the perfect platform to unite gamers under one banner.
Work with us bring a new strategy game to the OUYA console
When creating this strategy game we wanted to ensure that we did not use too many buttons, with a little tweaking we know we can now export our strategy game to the OUYA and hopefully other nextGen consoles.
Double Our Fun(ds)! We're participating in OUYA's #FreeTheGames Fund, created by OUYA to support developers making new and creative console games. OUYA will match your pledge dollar-for-dollar up to your goal amount (and a max of $250,000), so help us get there and make a great game for everyone! To be eligible for this match, we commit that this game will be an OUYA exclusive for a period of time. To learn more about OUYA, go to www.OUYA.tv.
The budget includes a safety-net for just in case expenses that arises that were unforseen. The goal is to maintain a reasonable, strict and dynamic budget.
Creating this as an "indie team" will be tough, but we will keep you in on the loop for every step of the way. Chime in on the comments section. We are there all day and night looking for feedback, tweaking things and here to make you a good game.

Our greatest challenge will be graphic support. We have created things on shoestring budgets, but never in 3D before. When you play the game, we do not expect you to say it is the best looking game you've ever played; but boy will the graphics match and present the atmosphere of the game we wish to give you.
As with most video game projects, we can not properly forsee the future and the amount of delays that may arise while making this game. We have prepared for that and will release the game through iterations via the Alpha Prime service.
PawByte is also working on another project titled Agriduel (aka Fields of Fresh). Agriduel is a 2D RPG title that is nearing it's completion. PawByte's staff has more than doubled since the beginning of starting Agriduel and is able to create multiple projects at the same time. Due to the Agriduel being a 2D game and Underground Throne being made in 3D team members are being split into separate projects; with the exception of programming, HUD art and voice acting.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
By no means. Nathan(the lead programmer) will be eating Ramen noodles while haggling his artists and musicians to contribute lovely art for the game. $8,000 will get the game nicely done 3D models, textures, HUD graphics as well as some upcoming voice actors.
No, this goal is set to pay our dedicated team to create 3D models, concept art as well as GUI graphics. We are also participating in OUYA's Free-The-Games Fund which will double our game's funding once it is released onto the OUYA.
The main purpose of this KickStarter is to pay our artist to change them. In previous projects we had them work on things with a huge wait until payment; but it is not the best practice for developing a game. They are living people and it requires large amounts of time for them to design great art. We will prefer to pay them as soon as their tasks are done; not months afterwords. Life is tough, why make it tougher on them?
Yes, the cafeteria area will serve your minions bacon.
You explore, expand your dominion and combat other dungeon masters along the way. There are also neutral hostiles that will need to be eliminated and custom missions that do not revolve around combat.
In AlphaPrime Version 0.25, the combat system is unavailable; but V0.26 will include combat(slated for released on Thurs 3/20/2014). Back the campaign and watch it evolve.
On twitter he wished us good luck, we're still trying to reach out and get a deeper conversation with him.
