Ogre Cheerleaders is a light-hearted, set-collecting game where players are playing the part of recruitment officers for Ogreton University's cheerleading team. Play cards to the Field in order to arrange ogres into score-able formations. Assemble the best team of ogre cheerleaders to win the game.
Ogre Cheerleaders is a fun game meant to fit in your pocket on your way to hang out with friends, or play at a restaurant while waiting for your food. The mechanics are easy to learn, and provide opportunities to surprise your opponent with cool combo moves during the game. Games typically last less than 10 minutes, and you'll be demanding a rematch before you're done counting up your points.
*The game was designed to support 2 players, but can easily be expanded to support more. 3+ player games will be more chaotic and unpredictable, but fun nonetheless. And in the end, if you're going to get upset about losing a game called Ogre Cheerleaders, you've probably got more problems than...well...an ogre cheerleader.
The theme and artwork go a long way towards making Ogre Cheerleaders a fun experience, but the simple game mechanics will be set a brisk pace of game play. Each turn you will be playing one ogre card onto either end of the field, and resolving the effects of the card. The card effects will change the order of the ogres on the field and sometimes add or remove ogres from the field in some way. Then, you'll check to see if you've arranged the ogres into 1 of 3 possible formations that can be scored. Get ogres next to each other on the field with the same number, from the same team, or in a numerical sequence to score them. However, you'll want to be careful not to leave your opponent an easy score for their next turn!
For more information on the game mechanics, check out our overview video below, or click here to check out our rulebook.

Ogre Cheerleaders has been an amazing project to work on. Our motivation behind this project is drawn from our passion for gaming. We love playing and making games, and sometimes it is hard to share that passion with all of your favorite people. Gaming can sometimes be a time commitment and you can't get your friends to sit and play. We wanted to make a game that is easy and accessible to everyone.
Ogre Cheerleaders is that game. The rules can be learned in less than five minutes and the game can be played in less than ten. We have found that people who are serious about gaming love ogre cheerleaders and people who don't game very often at all love ogre cheerleaders.
Through all of the effect brainstorming and playtesting we have found that ogres were meant to cheer. We are proud of this game and hope you love it as much as we do!
Risks and challenges
Designing and developing Ogre Cheerleaders has come with its own unique challenges. It doesn't have quite the level of complexity of our previous projects so we thought this would be a good opportunity to try handling the shipping from the manufacturer. Previously, we used an organization that managed the production and shipping of our games. Now we are working with Whatz Games and dealing directly with the manufacturers and the shippers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
